Thrive Architect v Thrive Content Builder
On August 23, 2017, Thrive Themes launched their new version of Thrive Content Builder (TCB). It is called Thrive Architect (TA).
I use TCB. Thousands of website owners use TCB. We are all happy with it. It works, as can be seen from my website. However, with the new TA, which I updated my plugin to, there are many issues.
In my case, it was not being able to get the padding for paragraphs and headlines right. Other TA users lost essential colours on their web pages and many other issues.
TA needs time to learn. Today, August 24, Thrive released TA version 2.0.1 with lots of bug fixes.
Today, I deleted TA and reinstalled TCB.
If anyone is 'upgrading' from TCB to TA, DON'T do it just yet. Thrive will continue to support TCB for a short while, but will insist that we eventually use TA.
I suggest that we wait for a couple of months at least before taking the plunge. By then, all the bugs ought to be fixed. I also suggest experimenting with TA on a test website and learn how to use it there before making the changeover on your precious WA-hosted websites.
Thrive got their backsides kicked yesterday and are obviously embarrassed at offering TA full of issues.

Hi Jan,
I see you are an expert on Thrive Architect.
I have old content and I just became a member of Thrive. I installed the Thrive Architect Plugin.
I am having challenges with using the Background Section and unable to position it in the middle of my old content. It stays at the top. What am I missing here?
Thank you Jan and Kind Regards,
Monica
I suppose another question I have around this is the SEO potential of a landing page. The only SEO factor that mine has going for it so far is its URL is a strong keyword. Within the Thrive Template there doesn't seem to be opportunity to even customize meta title and description or any other SEO strategy.
Thanks for responding Janice. Imagine my happiness when I discovered yesterday that I had not activated All in One and that I could use it to improve things!
I just discovered TA and was ready to purchase. Then I did a search here to see if there were any comments. Your post was created in August and it is now December. Is Thrive Achitect road-worthy yet?
Oh yes, Shell.
TA is now working very well. I like it better than the old version because users now have full control over the way their web pages appear.
For example, I create a page for the desktop computer. Does it look right on mobile or tablet devices? No.
But with TA we can tweak the mobile appearances and that never affects the desktop view, and vice versa.
All these new technologies have bugs at the beginning. Thrive Themes now realize that they were silly to offer TA without any feedback.
Thrive have since August fixed tons of clangers. We all live learn.
TA is good now. I like it.
However, it is a steep learning curve and requires patience. Figure things out for yourself — that's what I did. The technology to create whatever effect you want is there. This is why I won't go anywhere else.
There is no comparison. But you have to learn it yourself. There are tons of videos to help you when you get stuck.
In the end you WILL be a TA expert. I am.
Hope this helps you, Shell.
Janice.
Thank you. I needed to create some landing pages and have been reviewing the differences between ClickFunnels, LeadPages, Beaver Builder, and some others...In the end decided to buy the $67 one website version, refundable within 30 days and see if it worked for me. I just went through the first tutorial and saw the amazing opportunities - also realized this will take some learning and practice. I appreciate your response. Looks like you have mastered it, and love it, and I hope I can say the same soon!
Hello, Shell,
You can now create any web page you want. I build my pages/posts in desktop mode using TA then see what they look like in mobile mode. Any tweaks I then make in mobile mode will not affect the desktop look.
This is perfect for getting messages across to mobile users, who are now outnumbering clunky desktop viewers.
With TA we have loads of fancy options, too, like nice 3D shadows for images and video. You can get lost with all the methods available. Watch the TA videos at Thrive and master it all.
It beats all other WordPress themes out there.
Janice.
I wish I had found your post earlier. I'm using TA and I'm having a hard time inserting "Content Templates." There are other features in TCB that I can't find in TA. In fact, I used to create beautiful Pros and Cons content boxes with TCB, but with TA I can't find where to get the proper symbols to include in the box. It's really taking me a while to get used to TA, but I hope it is just a question of time before I master it.
I'm not sure how you got your copy, In member's area, I'm still getting the time counter on TA download page which is showing about 4 more days to go!
The digital world is rather fickle. I have the annual subscription to Thrive Themes, so whatever comes up new, I can access it. Be careful!
One of the benefits of using Thrive Architect is no loss of content if you remove the plugin. I signed up to use TCB but I have been waiting for TA so I can utilize this benefit.
Thanks for sharing these issues, I will check them out.

Hey Janice,
In visiting Thrive's website this evening to decide on another of their themes, these seem to have been removed from their website :-O
Have put in a ticket asking them whether they are discontinuing their themes. I'm so shocked and disappointed as their themes have REALLY help improve my site's rankings no matter the theme I've used.
It will be a major disappointment for me if they are planning on only ever offering only TA from here on.
Someone created video training on Thrive Architect in the last few days. Would you happen to remember whose training that was... IF you saw it, of course?
