Should I Allow Guest Blogging
I was contacted by Phone yesterday from an individual who claimed to be a successful blogger for 15 years. I listened to this man offer tips to improve two of my websites.
Here is what he suggested:
Download a plugin to allow guest blogging where users can create their own profiles for example about me author, let users write and post blog posts just like if I am writing the blog content after research to match my niches.
This gentleman said I could charge the guest bloggers to make extra income for example say 30 blogs post a month for $20 or charge $2.50 to $5 per blog post or word count.
Another option is a plugin to allow the same functionality without charging, but warned the free option would result in more spam to sort through and taking time away from operating my websites.
Would you recommend guest blogging in this way other than site comments?
As I have been searching for how to do this with WordPress Plugins, this will require turning my websites into membership sites!
Wouldn't this method slow down the speed of my websites?
Is this even allowed with our WA hosting websites?
Both websites this gentleman suggested doing this is hosted here at Wealthy Affiliate?
Any guidance on this topic is greatly appreciated.

A guest blog can be a good thing if you know your source. You can connect not only to your audience, but to theirs. I've added a couple of guest blogs to my site.
However, I have not used a plugin. I've set them up as a temporary "user" and then removed the "user" status once they'd posted.
I don't think I'd choose to do such a thing via a phone call from a stranger.
I have never accepted any guest posts on my blog, as Partha said, it would need to be something REALLY good to allow someone to do that.
The other day I got " an offer" for guest posting and they would even pay me for it so they said and when I asked where this post would lead too externally, I got the answer: casino, adult-related or bitcoins, lol! So be very very careful with what you accept!

Hey Jannette,
If you have the patience to go through one of my longer blog posts I wrote about this last type of approach last year, here you go: I’ve Just Received This Email - How Much Should I Charge? Okay, let me just "tear this guy apart" from the information you've provided.
"A successful blogger for the last 15 years"
The only time I would pick up a phone to contact someone to talk about backlinks is is I wanted to OBTAIN them, and it would need to be a hugely authoratitive website.
Without any disrespect to you, it would need to be websites with HUGE domain authority for me to actually pick up the phone, Arianna Huffington, New Yprk Times, Buzzfeed, CNet, etc.
Secondly, this guy has recommended a plugin.
REALLY?
For backlinks?
Here's an educated guess
HE is the Creator and Owner of that Plugin.
Finally
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, allow free access to your website for bloggers to write guest posts on your site WITHOUT having some level of control (using a plugin REMOVES this control from you).
A lot of people think that having many other bloggers write guest posts on their websites sounds like FREE content.
Also, many people think, "This sounds lucrative because I can charge them".
You have no idea of the standard of writing you will receive.
You also have no idea of the websites they are going to link to from their guest posts.
This means a LOT more work for you in terms of checking, editing, and potentially deleting.
And then even having to disavow incoming spammy links too.
All it takes is about 50 guests posts, let's say you charge $2,500 in total, all these bloggers link to spammy websites, and at the next Google Algorithm update Google smashes your site to pieces for SPAM.
This approach has earned you $2,500 BUT your website will never earn another penny again.
IGNORE!
Partha
Thank you, Partha you addressed my concerns, about this issue. One of the questions I did ask him was he an owner or affiliate of the plugins that he suggested, and I got no direct answer but instead being rudely interrupted with more like sales pitches.
I answered the phone as showed up as local area number, which scammers that know how to show their phone number as a local number in our areas.
No, I have not searched or done anything in relation to back links! So, this probably someone searching the internet for small time bloggers like me trying to scam me and possible other bloggers.
I read your recommended article months ago, just couldn't find again to read and go over.
Thank You
Jannette
Exactly Partha! As always on point, my friend.
