One of the things that stop many of us from following our dreams are the people around us.
You know that friend that always sees the bad in things, the doubting Thomas, and for some crazy reason we find ourselves always telling them what we are about to do.
I know such a person, and as lovely as they are, they will always spoil the party by finding something wrong with it.
I learned a few years ago, to keep my dreams to myself and only share with like minded people and since then my life as changed for the better.
My motto now is "keep it lite and keep it moving" when it comes to conversations with the doubting Thomas's of this world. keep then guessing.
I say that to say this. Unfortunately their are people that will find something wrong with anything. It is not personal, it is a reflection of them self. It is more about what is going on in their lives and really nothing to do with you or your dream.

You are so right. People tend toward the negative around us. We have found that down here as everywhere else. If you tell people you have a dream or a plan/goal, its as if they want to burst your bubble of hope and optimism. Why is that?
In our opinion, as you say, it is within themselves. Perhaps they see a spark in you and it makes them sad or jealous. It is best to keep quiet and carry on. They have their own demons.
Here, at WA, at least we have kindred spirits that are positive and encouraging.

You have summed it up nicely! I have a 'dear friend' who is negative. It can really suck the oxygen out of the air.
These people have numerous anthems: you can not do squat; you will lose money; it won't work.
But, i will rise...rise...above them. Moving forward!
