Outsourcing getting started guide - top 10 tips.
I used to do it all alone, learning slowly and putting a lot of time in.
Now I have a team in the Phillipines and they ROCK!.
I've tried a lot of places for finding good, cheap talent, but I've found the Phillipines to be the best place.
1 - I recommend having a full time worker rather than small jobs.
This ends up being cheaper over the long haul, and you get someone who understands your business better.
One full time developer (40hrs per week) with good english from the Phillipines will run you ~350 - 400 USD.
2 - Give them a test task and interview first.
This is a great way to get a feel for their quality rather than just a handful of templates they may send you.
3 - Communication is the most important so make sure the english is very good.
4 - For organizing your tasks and work I HIGHLY recommend ASANA...
The "inbox" feature is the coolest feature ever!
5 - For chats and communication I recommend HALL.com which has persistent chat rooms, a mobile app, and inline images.
We use this every single day to communicate quickly and have a full history.
6 - Establish clear rules.
Some of my rules include having to respond within 5 minutes every time I contact, giving notice when they won't be around, and providing hourly updates of what's being worked on.
7 - Use LASTPASS for sharing sensitive information and logins.
This will keep them protected, and still allow everyone to sign in.
8 - Treat your workers with respect, make them feel valued, and help them enjoy their livelihood.
I love my team, and try to make things fun, and challenging for them and not just treat them liked hired hands to be worked to the ground.
9 - Outsource your email, and repetitive tasks.
Get things that are distracting out of your hair quick so you can focus on moving the 'bigger rocks.'
10 - A small its of my favorite additional software for working with my team...
Snagit - For screen shots and explanations.
Drop box - For quick file sharing and team files.
Invision App - For design collaboration and mockups.
Garage Pay - For paying them on time and with minimal fees.

Hi Jacob
I don't have any experience in outsourcing , and I am wondering if I have to pay them after or before they have write the articles?
If I am not happy with the writing , how do I do ?
Not long time ago , I went to Fiverr to create a logo, I was very unhappy with the look of the logo , I have tried to contact them , but they have ignored me, and I didn't get my money back.
So now I am suspicious about outsourcing.
Can you suggest me a good place to outsource , and even someone I can trust?
Thank you
