Setting Goals and Taking Action
6
I think that setting goals, both monetary and non-monetary, are an important part of any business. I once read about the Harvard study that the class of 1979 completed on written goals. People say that it's just another myth that floats around in cyber space, and it may very well be. Regardless of whether the story is true or not, it stuck with me--and it's the moral that's important anyways. The conclusion was that 3% of Harvard business graduates made more more than the other 97% of the graduates simply because they wrote their goals down and took action.
So, I've promised myself that I will take small steps each day to help build my Internet marketing business. My step for today was creating goals (as outlined in the First 10 Days Training). I have them posted on my computer screen, but I wanted to post them here and update this post as the year continues to help keep me focused and maybe help other newbies step out of their comfort zones and share their goals.
Monetary Goals
- I want to earn my first $1 in my first 10 days.
- I want to earn $50 in my next 30 days online.
- I want to earn $100 in the next 60 days online.
- I want to earn $150 in the next 90 days online.
- I want to earn $500 in the next 6 months online.
- I want to earn $2000 in the next year online.
- By the end of 12 months, I want to have enough passive monthly income from IM to cover the rent each month
- By the end of 12 months I want to have enough money saved to take a vacation! (I'll have earned it by then!)

Awesome! Another thing I read about goals is to emotionalize them. Why do you want to achieve those goals? Once you do achieve your goals what is it going to FEEL like.
That's a good idea. I may have to think about this some more and edit the post a bit. (while I'm working away of course!)
