RIP Google+ - I didn't know this until now!
So I am a bit behind the times but this kinda caught me off guard.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/google-plus-shutdown-date-moves...
I was watching Jay's training, "21 Minute Rankin Method," and I went back to post a few of my links to my G+ account and the image wasn't coming up right. I could not figure this out and even though I don't believe this had anything to do with the shut down I stumbled upon (no social media pun intended) this article and many others like it.
This does not come as a complete surprise to me.
I will be the first to admit I am just an average player in this game but G+ never really seemed that intuitive to me. I know many tech savy folks out there picked it all up so easy but unfortunately in order for things to succeed on a mass level it has to be usable by a mass market. For some reason G+ always had a touch of arrogance to it that said only a certain level of internet users are worthy of our platform. As you can plainly see I am not one of them and although I used the platform, I never fully integrated any of my strategies with it.
D-Day April 2019
This seems to be the date all of this will be going away. I also see that Google Hangouts will be going away as well in 2019: https://9to5google.com/2018/12/02/google-hangouts-shutting-d...
Just reinforces what is taught here at WA
It's all about the content. Organized and optimized to an extent but if you want traffic, create an authority by doing the work. This is why I love this place. They never ever waver.
Can you dig it?

I never understood Google+ either. I remember setting up all kinds of interest categories but then never managed to find them again or understand what to do. So I simply didn't use it. It will not be missed by me. Thanks for the info.

You're not alone Isabella, evidently, the majority of the cyberspace world felt the same way.

Lol I used to be with Google+ years ago until I went back to brick and mortar - after losing may faith in ever building success online, until now that is hehe - thanks for sharing, I never knew they were out either.

I read in one of the post in WA that G+ is going
to stop soon. Maybe that's the reason it's not very
stable anymore.
