Business card QR codes!
Hello WA users!
I just wanted to share a great business idea that I have been using for a while. It's a better way to physically get people connected directly to your website wherever you may be. Handing out business cards is one thing, but if you are in the niche website business then it's much more useful to give people instant access with a QR code on your card.
I use this method because I am a digital comic book publisher, so I needed a "tangible" method to give people a physical connection to our comics. And comic books have the same dimensional ratio as a business card so it was only natural to make "mini comics" with QR connections on them.
Making a QR code is very easy and can be done in a multitude of websites online. The one I use is "The QR Code Generator" at https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/
You just input your website name in the blank and then download the various size QR codes that you may need. I would download them all since they can be used almost anywhere (on post cards, posters, etc).
You can also pay a small fee for custom QR codes with cool pictures to capture people's attention. And be sure to add your facebook and twitter connections too.
Take advantage of this fabulous free technology that allows you to make connections anywhere, anytime...
Oh and BTW you do not have to pay allot for business cards, you can print and cut them yourself. Just format a 3x4 front and back page and do a duplex print. If you use loose text/QR code on the back like the example shown, then you will have an easy time matching the front and back up.
This is what the 3x4 page setup looks like...
I printed up 600+ (25 letter size prints) give away cards for an event last week and gave them all away. If even only 0.5-1.0% used them then that's 60 clicks/views for potential customers, which is great in my book. But I'm guessing direct contacts like this have a much higher yield than other methods. People contact for sales is always better.
Good Luck!

Once again, WA comes thru! I did a google search on this and your post was result Numero Uno. Impressive!
But Kyle & Carson get all of the props, right?
Anyhow, great post. 101, you did your good deed for the day.
I have also put them in a widget as an image for the contact page of a site, or down in the footer, they are cool and are pretty fool proof when using a smart phone reader app- great reminder, Andy
I've been wondering how I can do this for my benefit. Thanks for sharing the generator, Michael.
Yeah, I totally love FREE stuff! BTW you can also use Bitly too so that you can track the number of views & clicks that come to your website. You can make a shortened website code on Bitly and then you can check the stats on your business card clicking stats.

Yeah, another FREE service!

Hey, I just found out that you can easily do it, too, on http://VistaPrint.com. I was just creating a business card on their, and saw how I could generate a QR code as they have that feature, and it put it right on the back of our card...so easy! ;)
Very cool. I'll have to check that feature out. Yeah the QR thing is pretty cool feature.
Thanks!
