Yes, reviews can be hard to get when you first publish a book. Even a book that sells well may not get many reviews. Those first few reviews can be critical to the book gaining momentum, and trying to approach the top Amazon reviewers can be a tiresome and drawn out process.

If you haven't done so already, leave a request for reviews at the end of your book as well. You'd be surprised how will this simple little tactic can work for those who do buy it and read it.

I've sometimes thought about dropping a message here on WA to try and get reviews on a more recent book of mine that hasn't managed to gain any traction yet.
