Quality comments and a lower bounce rate.
Hi All,
Just thought I would do a quick follow up on a blog that neilc wrote a couple of days ago on leaving quality comments. (you can see it here https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/neilc/blog/stop-leaving-poor-quality-blog-post-comments# )
I also think while reading other peoples posts and leaving comments, it would be a good opportunity to help reduce the websites bounce rate. Google likes a low bounce rate as this means that people are staying on the site for longer, so therefore Google must think the content is good, and this will help with ranking.
A high bounce rate is not good. If people are visiting your site for only a few seconds then Google will think that quality of content is poor and this will not help your ranking.
What I am suggesting is that when you visit a site to leave a comment, leave the tab open while you move onto the next one and so on. If you fancy a cup of tea or coffee or are having your lunch, open some websites and leave the tabs open while you do so.
And don't forget to give a quality comment, look for the keywords and try and put them in the comment, ask a question. Make it look as if you are really interested.
Hope this helps a little.
Good Luck
Ian.

And instead of just leaving the tab open while you grab some coffee, check out a few other pages/posts as well. Doesn't Google also look at entry/exit pages?
Hey Ian, great discussion. The more this issue of leaving a quality comment is mentioned in the blogs, the more members will become aware, informed and educated on the most helpful way to leave a comment.
Thanks for posting!
Andy
I always surf around a site to reduce the bounce rate, I think that'll help too, when you see several pages
This is a great idea Ian... and ...I must +1 you on your mention of leaving quality comments. We've all been through the training or are in the midst of it and we are in a position to be able to see what the main focus of the post is that we are commenting on. It's good practice to at least drop more than two sentences of "quality" comments where we can include a helpful keyword related to the post.
Dave
Thanks for sharing that piece of information. I'll definitely be sure to use it when the time comes.

You know, I never really thought about this. I am a quick reader (I was an English teacher for years, so I learned to get through papers fast), so I tend to move through sites with more speed than most. I'm going to make a concerted effort to keep websites open a little longer when I visit. Thanks for this, Ian.
