How To Overcome Adversity
I've been working on my website for the Super Affiliate Challenge. It just seems that when I try to sit down and concentrate and get something done, something else pops up that needs my attention. Have you been through that? Here is just my personal thoughts on how to overcome adversity. Maybe this can help you also.
Some Context
Just to give you a bit of context. I recently had my fourth back surgery (and hopefully my last). I felt like crap for a long time but just within the last 3 weeks or so, I have gotten the feeling that I am turning the corner. It's about time. I have been down for almost 3 months.
My wife and I recently got a new puppy that we adopted from our local city animal shelter. She is great. We also have a 3-year old staffordshire terrier that is about 70 lbs,
Anyway, just this past weekend, my older dog must have stepped on or ran over my puppy. My pup now has a hairline fracture in one of her legs. It's a good thing that I am off work or else we wouldn't be able to have her. As you might imagine, she needs a lot of attention right now.
$750 in emergency pet care later (thank goodness for credit cards), I'm now taking care of an injured pup while still showing love to my older dog. Good thing for the most part, I'm back on my feet but have to put looking for work on hold for at least another month so that I can be a nurse to my puppy.
How Do I Overcome This?
I'm not complaining. That's the first thing. Actually, I feel blessed. Puppy is learning to trust me and she is so cute with her cast. I'm back up on my feet. My wife is able to hold us down income wise for the moment. I'm building my business with my website and having a ball doing so with everything that I'm learning. I know that I won't have to worry about working for someone else at some point in the future because of what I'm learning here at WA.
So, how do I overcome the situation, I keep moving forward. That is the key for us all. Just keep moving FORWARD. As long as there is forward movement, you can get past anything and end up better off than you were before.
Adversity, is like lifting weights. When you first start lifting, you have to deal with the soreness and discomfort because the muscle is being torn down. The good news is, in tearing down the muscle, it is now ready to be built back up stronger and mightier than it was before.
So it is with adversity. In going through it, it's rough and hard to do sometimes. But as you keep moving forward, your strength is built up to a point where you realize, Hey, I'm good now and can make it through that situation again if it comes back up.
What a nice place to be.
Keep pushing, keep reaching, keep striving, no matter the difficulty keep pushing forward and see where you end up. Especially here, where it pertains to building your business.
Adversity is no match for those who continue to move FORWARD!!!

"For those who love GOD and are called according to His purpose." I hear and receive that Rosemary. Thanks and best wishes to you in your business!
I hear you Horace. I had surgery last week and still feeling week and tired, however, after going through this I should feel much better overall. Sounds to me like that puppy got hurt for a reason. You have to stay home, take care of the puppy and work on your business.
Cal
Hi Calvin. Wishing you a speedy recovery my friend. Take it slow and you will get better soon. Yeah, I'm trying to use the time wisely now that I feel better. Maybe pup was meant to help me focus. Best wishes!
Your strength and self motivation will definitely get you through.
I wish you all the best
Keep pushing despite what adversity throws at you
You can do this!

You are right ...keep moving forward. I've been stuck on something now for a few days, so I leave it and do one of the other many tasks that need doing. Then I come back after a break and try again. Eventually it works.
Hi Fran. Just keep inching forward ever so slightly. It all counts toward in the direction of reaching your goals.

Wouldn't that be great if it was always that easy and always worked out to a satisfactory conclusion? First, I empathize with you and your 4 back surgeries. I am a survivor of 4 fusions myself. It was ultimately what cut my nursing career short. So, now you can add puppy pupateer to your list of titles. Please post pictures so we can ooooo and awww over her cuteness! You're doing a great job Horace! Keep it up and we got your back...sorta! 💕

Hi Liz, it would be great but also somewhat boring. Sometimes meeting the challenge and getting through in spite of everything, is fun. Wow, 4 fusions, you know exactly what I'm going through. Sorry that it cut your nursing career short but I can definitely see how that could happen. I think it happened for both us so that we could help people on a global scale through our online business. I got your back also when you need it. No one left behind. The old military mindset in me. Blessings to you in your health and business.
