If I purchase a new domain name can I change my website name?
If I transfer my website can I keep the comments I have received to date?
Thanks, Hayley
Ok got you now and yes you can change your title but don't forget your permalink as well if you want them to match other wise you will get a 404 and have to put in a 301 re-direct.
Hope this is clear for you and if not get back to me ok.
Robert
Thanks Rob, I think I understand what you are saying, but not sure where to find the permalink? Thanks so much for you help, Hayley
Hello again
Your permalink is directly under your Title Box
Once you change your Title you click the little 'edit' box and you then copy/paste your new title into it then click Update.

Thank you all - sorry for not being clear, it has come to light that my website name is very similar to another's in my social circle, so I wanted to change it, so that I couldn't be accused of copying, as it was a pure accident, but not sure if I change the name of the Website but the domain name is the same, if that will work, or still cause issues.
It may be me just over thinking, or worrying.
Thanks all.
Yes. - You can change the name that appears at the top of your website, just not your domain name.
Yes - When you transfer your website all of your comments will transfer over also.
I think she means she brought a domain name that doesn't really match her website name and she wants to change the websites name to match her domain name.
If you bought a new name why do you want to now change it?
This doesn't make sense.
Do you mean you want to transfer a Rubix Name to your New Domain?
If so then yes you can keep everything on one site when you transfer to another if you have saved a copy you just upload it to your new wordpress
Robert
I think you can change it for as long as it's not the domain name you want to change because you can't change it once you've purchased a domain name.
Yes, you can keep the comments by exporting all the contents of your site using the WP import & export tools. How to Back Up Your Wordpress Site - Using Tools Export Hope this help =)

hi everyone, I am about to choose my domain, however, I'm thinking about changing my website name, Is that possible?
I changed my 3 or 4 times as well as the theme until I was happy with what I have. I still have some work to do on it but now that I am aware of what to do I can do.
Go with what makes you happy and I wish you well

Hi all,
I have built my second website, followed the building a new website from the beginning like the first time, put the DNS addresses correctly through namecheap and
It's like a lottery. Sometimes it's transfered in a matter of minutes and others you just have to be a little patient, like 24 hours patient.
That is interesting I have been having a problem to my very first site I am being told that I google cannot communicate with the DNS wondering if there is an issue with namecheap, I have re-done mine to see if this works
I had this issue. But, with my issue I had to re-sync the password in the SiteBuilder control panel. With yours it sounds like the DNS has not updated yet. I would double check to make sure name cheap has the WA DNS servers setup correctly.
Thanks Joe, I have checked Namecheap and it does 'DNS back to server' which indicates that it has transferred the DNS to webhost page.
I did just watch a tutorial that says this can take up to 24 hours, so I'm going to hope tomorrow it will be accessible. :)

Hi all, when doing a Google search for my webpage the summary it comes up with is not in regards to my site, it is in regards to the original template description, does anyone k
When I first created my website Google 's description
was not at all what I wanted so I put up a construction post
so Google would know I was making changes to my site
then I changed the content at the top of my main page
and some of the content that really needed to be rewritten
then I had to weight a few days to get the description
I wanted from Google
The SEO plugin provides among other things, a field below your page/post where it puts in the text it assumes that describes your website from text within the website. You can overwrite this along with the title of your website.
Thanks, do you know how I overwrite this? I followed the 'Widgets' Tutorial and changed my footer to a banner post which I had hoped would have taken all the info that had this particular text within, but still Google has assumed this describes my website. thanks Hayley
If you are in your page/post editor and scroll to the bottom below where your post ends. It should look like the attached pic. The untidy red highlight is where you can over type.

Hi all,
I have gone through creating my mail list, and added the plug in and gone through the set up via Wordpress and Aweber, but when I go and check my website, I can't
Hey Hayley,
Did you take the javascript or HTML code that Aweber provides when you create the sign up form? You just need to paste that into the widget area where you to display the form.
