GREAT IDEAS TO "SPRUCE" UP YOUR WEBSITE.

I got some great inspiration lately from SUMO on decorating your website to draw more visitors! People just LOVE festive sights at Christmastime, and what better way to enhance and satisfy their Christmas spirit than to make your ONLINE STORE stand out! Wouldn't it be great to make it feel like they're stepping into a piece of the North Pole---or into a store like Macy's or Sacs Fifth Avenue at Christmastime?!

Every year like clockwork I decorate two of my client's sites for them and it makes all the difference in their sales. Analytics always increases and the amount of web traffic rises dramatically due to holiday banners I add, a festive look and special bargains!

Here are some "SWEET" thoughts to implement!

Make it festive with a feeling of Christmas: Let loose your creativity!

  • Hang a STOCKING HAT and CANDY CANES on your logo!
  • Build a SNOWMAN on the sidebar!
  • Add a MISTLETOE front and center!
  • Have ELVES busily working on your products!
  • Welcome guests with a WREATH!
  • String LIGHTS around the pages!
  • Put up a CHRISTMAS TREE and add PRESENTS!
  • Help them smell the goodness with SUGAR COOKIES and GINGERBREAD!
  • Serve some virtual HOT CHOCOLATE!
  • Attach CHRISTMAS BALLS or SLEIGH BELLS to each product!
  • Let your ideas run wild!

You can Google to find some great free holiday clip art! There are also endless pix right here at WA, many of which you can make into banners!

ADD HOLIDAY ITEMS TO YOUR PAGES.

Since you are decorating your site, it makes sense to add holiday items to sell. Choose the ones that will draw attention and ones you would actually buy!

GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS SOME GREAT HOLIDAY BARGAINS.

Another great idea is to BUNDLE your products in order to enhance a purchase and sell more! Selling in bundles is always the perfect idea! People love getting good deals when shopping, and love to feel as though they're getting MORE for their money, so why not bundle up a few products for a small discount and make them happy?!

WRITE A CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE BLOG.

People are usually racking their brains to think of what to get everyone. So, write a gift guide with great niche-related ideas of things you sell. You could include some fun and important facts about each one and an advantage they'd have in buying it.

Also, use phrase titles with a number to grab their attention. Examples:

USE SEASONAL KEYWORDS.

Make sure you, of course, change up your keywords and use seasonal ones. For example, if your page is about Pet Supplies, use Christmas Pet Supplies.--Then, make sure you add some holiday pet items.

GIVE YOUR BUYERS FREE SHIPPING.

It is always a plus when shopping online, especially around the holidays, to offer FREE SHIPPING. It really gives the shopper incentive to buy MORE!

ADVERTISE GIFT CARDS.

There's always that "too hard to buy for" person on everyone's list! So, make sure you offer and advertise gift cards! It's so much easier sometimes than dealing with sizes, colors, etc.

CREATE CHRISTMAS BANNERS.

Use BANNERS to SHOWCASE your BEST SELLERS and products you want to highlight. Their eyes will be drawn immediately to them! Canva is a good place to create them!

RUN AN AFTER CHRISTMAS SALE.

Having a sale AFTER Christmas is the best way to make some great profit! People are ALWAYS looking for huge bargains and discounts on items that are on sale!

STAY IN TUNE WITH YOUR AFFILIATE OFFERS AND SPECIALS so that you can implement them on your site!

OK, then---go and make your niche website something to write to Santa about! Enjoy!

PLEASE LIKE and SHARE, if you wish, to SPREAD THE FESTIVITIES! Thank you!

Thank you Erin, great tips! It's interesting that adding Christmas effects increases traffic, amazing! I like the sausage dog (Dachshund), I guess this type of photograph gets people's attention! It's interesting, as I don't think to have seasonal decorations et cetera would make me buy, but maybe this is a man thing or maybe I don't even realise the effect it has! The fact that the analytics figures tell you that there is an increase in traffic, says it all.

Have a great weekend.

Roy
