I like looking at international events and comparing to our life here at Wealthy Affiliate
Tiger Woods had it all, at the top of his game, probably the greatest sportsman off all time when he fell off the bus.
Ladies, booze, drugs and a bad back bought him back to earth as a mere mortal, divorced and his kids taken away left him in despair with just a bundle of money and an empty life.
Being a world-class sportsperson is not just a gift, it is hard work and very hard mentally as you struggle with the point 1% issues that take you to the next level.
Tiger must had many moments in the Last 11 years when he wanted to walk away thinking the top of the mountain is too hard.
He had to fight adversity in many ways and dedicate the practice into bringing his craft back to the top. Tiger in full flight would scare the pants off all the others, he would drive longer and putt better as the round finished.
He could not make it back. Ten years of dedication and perseverance and the elusive round remained just so. The mountain was to tall.
Did he put his Putter in the rack and give up? Golf was his life and being at the top was his goal.
This week he made it winning the green jacket at one of the most prestigeous courses in the world winning the US masters.
It took him eleven years to get back and what is remarkable is that he is one career win off beating the Sam Snead 82 career victories.
Without a win for eleven years! That is something. Like him or not this is an accomplishment that deserves applause.
We all know the end, where we want to be at the height of our game and sometimes it might seem impossible, it is not.
It takes work, dedication and time to reach a goal so on those days you want to hang up the putter think of the Tiger, He made it back.

Great post! I was happy for Tiger for his great comeback! He fell very hard, but he also worked very hard to come back! It was touching to watch his emotions as he was hugging his family!

Not a fan of him whether he was on top or not...as I was more a fan of rugby, however yes, we all have demons and he had to deal with his at a much more higher and publicised way. I respect the fact he stuck it out and made his way back. Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Peter, I thought at the time of Tiger's demise that he was too young to have all that money. And that was the beginning of his downfall. I think we all know that's not the whole story. Whether it be genetic or otherwise he had some demons that came out.
If he had not had those demons he would now have broken all the records golf had to offer and created a difference between him and the golf world that no one would ever catch.
You're right, like him or not, we can all learn from this story and understand that perseverance will get you everything you want. On Sunday, you could tell that he was going to win. You saw the other players feeling those Tiger footsteps that were bouncing their world on that course like an earthquake. And, in their interviews, they pretty said as much.
It was fun to watch and I'm happy for him and his resurgence.

Having played a bit of golf I know that the last holes are the ones that make a difference and it is here most falter.
I have given my speech many times walking up the seventeenth only to destroy myself over two holes. HA

A great lesson
That is a great example and I am glad you shared it here Peter. I struggle with this sometimes when everything just seems too hard. I am on the long haul here though and I won't give up. Though I go for weeks or months without adding much to my websites sometimes due to work, second job and health getting in the way, my websites keep chugging along.
Today I just broke my record for highest Amazon commissions in a month. I also broke the $50 in a month mark for Amazon commissions for the first time. This is great news considering it is only the middle of the month!
I may be going slow compared to some but I am getting there and the residual income from WA commissions and Amazon sales is great! The biggest thing to know here is that you have to be patient and it will all pay off in the end.
11 years was a long time between wins. Yet, despite the challenges, he never gave completely up. This win might end up being one of his sweetest as he had to work extra hard for it.

Tiger's accomplishment is great after 11 years, I would also say tennis great Roger Federer winning 3 of 5 Grand Slam Titles in 2017-2018 at the age of 36 (after not winning a Grand Slam title in 5 years) is equal if not better.
There are many others and I am also a Fan of Roger. But!
Tiger is now 43 so what could he have done in the wasted years.
Many time not even making the cut as an eligible player.
PS I did go and watch Roger in Perth Last year playing with Serena. He won the heart of Perth People with his charm and ability.
Very good analogy Peter. Most who have been successful and fall never make it back, yet his dedication and overall motivation has led him back to the top again. This accomplishment could move him past them all if he stays healthy. Only time will tell.

He is an excellent example of successful goal achievement. We can all learn from his lesson. Ten years -- well, if we are in WA for 10 years, and just working away,some good things should happen to us.
The only way to reach a goal is to keep focused on it and moving toward it.
