I am starting to learn

I'm not the most computer savvy person out there, and believe me it is taking me a very long time to learn! But thanks to great comments and handy tips, I believe I can get there!

The most important thing I have learned, is about being honest when it comes to leaving feedback.

I never want to hurt feelings or say something that isn't quite right, but I have learnt that without honest opinions none of us newbies (as I think we are called lol) would learn anything at all.

I love that we can teach each other and I would love to stick this out to the end, but for me it is all about learning, who would have thought!

Kindest regards,

ClaudiaLearning

We are all, always learning something Claudia, aren't we? I am honest with my feedback too, but gentle. I have a rule that is, always write something positive and don't just focus on constructive criticisms. After all to me people that put the effort into getting started are trying, and this is worthy of praise on its own.

I completely understand as I am a newbie too.

There's always something new to learn and we'll never know it all, if you follow me! Just make sure that you nail down everything you do learn as you go along - try not to skim. Well, that's what I'm trying to do, even though there's so much available at WA, it's really easy to get distracted!

Keep it up, you're doing fine :-)

You're doing very well.
Looking forward to your future posts.

Hi. Yes being honest is the best. It may hurt but use it to grow. Good luck.

Your right, let's all grow together. Stay at it, Robert

Hi Claudia,

When it comes to learning, little Miss Newbie (lol), there IS NO END.

One day, when I was a kid, my dad, (he went out of town for work in those days) had stopped in a little sandwhich shop and they gave out these free little thermometers with the store's logo. Why I remember this, I have no idea… It said, "Stasches Steaks, No Mistakes!" But what was imprinted on the bottom was what became forever imprinted on my 8-year-old mind. It read, "It's what you learn after you know it all - THAT COUNTS!"

And that has become a part of my personal philosophy ever since.

One thing I have learned as a songwriter as a result of many year of songwriting workshops and publisher pitch sessions - you have to have a thick skin, because some of the the pros will criticize your work harshly. But quite often, they are only trying to help you improve, and you have to be open to making changes.

The first rule is: "There are no rules" But there are guidelines. Take them or leave them at your own risk.

But it's the second rule (or lesson) that helped me the most: "Don't fall in love with any one of your songs. You might miss an opportunity to make a good song - a HIT song."

That's all for now. Jeeez. I should have blogged THIS. Maybe I still will. What do you think?

Thank you so much for the comment . I love what you said at the end! It' perfect, blog it! Lol

Hey Claudia, I wish you lots of success here! If you need help, don't hesitate to ask :)
