Oh, the memories! Forty-five years ago, living on the farm with my parents, every Thursday one of my jobs was to drive over to Mrs. Shockley's house (about two miles away) to pick up our family's weekly treasure of homemade cottage cheese that Mrs. Shockley made and sold to our family. What a treat. It was so wonderful. Not as creamy as you get from the store today but it was so good. I decided that now, multiple decades later, I would learn how to make homemade cottage cheese.
First, I needed instructions on how to make cottgae cheese. So I bought a book on the subject. That turned out to be the easy step. However getting the supplies and the equipment to make the cottage cheese was a little more difficult not to mention expensive.

So then I thought, why NOT do this a little differently? Why not create a website to teach others how to make homemade cottage cheese. I wouldn't charge them any money to do this but in order to host their website I would require them to send me 1/2 pound of homemade cottage cheese each month in return for hosting the site. WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I would call it Wealthy Cottage Cheese (WCC). It would surely catch on in a flash.
So I immediately contacted MarionBlack and Ignorant (my friends) to help me out with the technical aspects of the website. All I had to do was promise them a piece of the cheese each month in return for their services. Marion suggested that I contact pattucker to help our members of WCC out with their inner feelings while they were posting back and forth on the WCC website and PaulGoodman to add a little European flair to the site. I could tell that I had found a treasure chest of both assitance and cottage cheese with my startup group.
I contacted both pattucker and paulgoodman and they immediately said yes. However, Paul said he would only do it if the website at WCC had a ranking system to rank the cottage cheese makers in the group. GREAT IDEA, I said. Pat thought that we would list all members by their cheese making ability and call them Chessey Ambassadors and those that lost rank...Whey Outcasts. There you have it. We had an organization and the ability to GET lots of homemade cottage cheese.
Then it dawned on me. Why not just do all of this at Wealthy Affiliate as a niche for a new website and sell cottage cheese making supplies and equipment through a host of valuable widgets and banners that directed future cottage cheese makers to the cheese suppliers and equipment makers throughout the world.
To say the least, my WCC core members were devasted. Especially Paul. He was so looking forward to designating the Whey Outcasts each day. You can't win them all. DAN
