Getting my Blog ranked in 5 minutes!

I have become a fan of checking how long it takes for my blogs to get ranked in Google. Admittedly, I may pay too much attention to it, but it's fun and it gets me motivated to do more, and more! So I thought I'd share my latest findings and exactly what I did. Who knows, it may help someone out there!

I use a motivational service that sends me an email every day with some inspiration. I got one on Friday that instantly made me think Blog This! So here are the steps that I took from that moment:

Step 1:

The email that I got was about developing success beliefs so the first thing I had to do was to come up with a good keyword. Pondering about this for no longer than 2 minutes, I thought of something that may prove to be useful - 'How to develop success beliefs'. After all, people searching for 'success beliefs' might very well be looking for info on how to actually develop them.

Step 2:

I then had to make sure that after some keyword research, it would actually work to get ranked well. So I took the idea and popped it into the Keyword Tool here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is what I got:

The amount of searches was decent and clicking on 'View Result' to check out the competition, I found only 5 pages! I had found my keyword! The blog will rank much better and quicker with less competition.

Step 3:

So at this stage, I had my 'official' keyword after very little research, and not only an idea. The next step was to actually write my blog, with this keyword in mind. The keyword became the title of the blog, put into the first paragraph and it was also setup in the SEO All-in-one plugin.

The next thing I did was to check the Google search result, once the blog was published. I didn't put this as 'Step 4' because your ranking in Google will happen anyway, whether you check it or not :)

This is what I got in Google, after 5 Minutes!

You will see that my blog is at #2 on Google, within 5 minutes!! I was actually super-excited about this and it motivates me to do even more! I am very strapped with time but I figured that if I do one or two of these blogs every week, I should have over 100 blogs within 12 months! Perhaps this will get my website at number one in Google (currently number 3)?

Just to recap the process that I followed:

• Get a blog idea and think for some keywords that you could use
• Do some keyword research to get those 'low hanging fruit' ones
• Write your blog (using that awesome keyword you found) and enjoy the results
