Priorities. Gotta Have Them.

I'm a member of the Super Affiliate Challenge, and that brings with it a lot of commitment. I've got posts to write, both here at Wealthy Affiliate and on my website. I've got keywords to find, training to do, chat to participate in, comments to give and ask for, all within a month.

But there's life, too.

Should we give up our lives for the challenge?

Yeah, I think we should, but within reason.

The WA challenge is a responsibility, and a big one. Each one of us is hoping and working for financial success. But, some responsibilities are to our families and friends too.

I would say to our jobs, but I'm retired so I won't. But I would have if I was still working.

Right now I'm 4 hours away from home, visiting family and meeting my newest granddaughter. She was only 9 days old when we got here.

We've been here 2 days, and will be here for 3 more. My son and his wife have 5 kids, 3 boys and 2 girls, and all are young, the oldest being only 5. Yeah, I know, they came close together.

They're great kids but they're kids, so they require a lot of attention. It's noisy, they run around a lot and want grandma and grandpa to play with them, and we want to focus on them while we are here, too.

That means that right now family is the priority and WA is secondary. I know that it's putting me behind for a while. I'm not worried.

I'm old enough to know what matters. And what matters when. If I wake up someday and wish I had done something different, it won't be wishing that I had given my family a little more attention.

Right now everyone but me has gone to bed, and it's quiet. I can write a little, get some work accomplished. Soon enough I'll be able to focus more on the challenge.

Then I'll play catch-up. But for now, I'm enjoying time with family.

My WA challenge is always on the back of my mind, though, for times like this when I get a few minutes to work.

I guess my point is that while we should give up worthless things like sitting in front of the TV or mindlessly playing a game online, some things are valuable and require our attention, too. Don't neglect them.

I'm Grant.

Thanks Grant for sharing! Yes, don't neglect your family!

Keep up the great writing,
~T.

Thanks, T. I’m happy that you took the time to read my post. All the best to you.

Good afternoon Grant,

I would do like you if I had grandchildren. You enjoy your time with them and then in a few days start with new energy.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Thanks. Great advice. I think I’ll do exactly that :-)

You've got your priorities straight. You can never get these days with your grandbabies back again, but your site will always be available for you to work on. Congrats on the newest member of your family. I think it's great that your son and daughter-in-law love children so much. We need more people like that in this world.

Enjoy! This will all be here quietly waiting for you when you return.

Just don’t get too far ahead. Playing catch-up is hard! :-)

Thanks, Grant for the share.
Balance is the key.

Paul.

True that.

Great work.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing, Grant.

You are welcome

The family should come first, within reason. It is what life is all about. Work to live, do not live to work.

So true.
