Sticks & Stones.and Puddles Full of Thoughts
Time to Walk Away...
I know what ya'll thinking! Where is he going with this? Well to be honest, I mean what I am saying right here. Time to walk away! Indeed, as in Don't forget the Me Time in the course of your day! Right! Get out there and enjoy whatever your surroundings are, breath, take it all in and start refreshed again!
I just returned from a virtual walk with a friend. Hey it's winter out there, and things can look pretty desolate at times. But there is a certain beauty in isolation, you know, those things in life you imagine in your mind that are beautiful, then suddenly you are hit with the realization...it wasn't just a dream.
Your not going to find it sitting inside trying to get everything done in one sitting, or two, or three, or even four for that matter. We are going to be most creative when our mind is free from of the clutter of, well, trying to do too much or over thinking how we get from here to there.
I prefer walking with someone who is going to share my thoughts, inspire me, even encourage me to keep moving in the right direction! Solitude may be your thing, but what is even more important, is that you give yourself some time to walk away!
Sticks & Stones....?
Do you mean like, in break my bones? I certainly do! You know, there is an incredible amount of respect shared by mostly all the members of this WAmily! Incredible as in nearly immeasurable! Almost... Part of walking away should also include stepping away from your post and taking the time to reread your words, BEFORE, you hit the send button! For example, the weather outside can be extremely "hot" ( well certainly not today here in New England).Hot is a perfectly appropriate word to describe the weather...not so much, an adjective to describe a member of the WAmily (acquaintance) in a public forum!
Now in full transparency, I work in healthcare and I have over the years referred to a patient of mine as "Dear" or "Darling", I am not ashamed to admit at all that I was quickly schooled in the proper way to professionally address someone who I had never meant before. How gracious and forgiving these folks had been in delivering this "pearl" to me.
Puddles of Thought...
The thing with puddles, especially those we stand over to catch a glimpse of something with a different perspective! They are a reflection of who we are! I know I have read and reread oh so many of Kyle and Carson's post, for some time now! Never, make that a big NEVER, have I seen or heard either of them, as well as 99.9% of the community here ( yes we are a big community) act in anything less than a professional manner. Thank you everyone! If this is the number you fit into give yourself a pat on the back! You deserve it!
If You fall into the .1% that needs a little fresh air, then, we all graciously ask you to step away! Hit the refresh button before you hit the publish button! As a community we get it....and as the saying goes, "...names will never hurt us"!
The Best,
Gerry

Hi Gerry,
Your post is quite timely for me.
I"m really feeling down at the moment about a few WA members who I feel are harassing me on my business social media pages. For a while there, I was greeting all new followers with 'please let me know if you have any business social media pages so I can follow and support your business'
So, some people started following me and I followed them. But now, a few of these people are video calling me late at night, sending inappropriate pms over facebook and instagram and just behaving in a really disrespectful way.
Anyway, I guess I just have to block them and move forward!
Thanks for your post; it's really good to read :)
marketa
Good Morning Marketa,
Block comes in handy doesn’t it! 😊 At the end of the day, we are a wonderful and caring community! We rise above it all. I am sorry if you have had to deal with some less than friendly engagement!
I hope my post brings you some comfort...
Gerry 🙏🏼😊
Hi Gerry
I know exactly what you are referring to and I applaud you for speaking up on the subject. I have considered addressing the topic first hand myself but took advice from a mutual friend to let it slide.
It's not an isolated incident either from this individual but I am sure that those on the receiving ends of such comments already regard the sender with appropriate contempt.
There is a place for having a laugh and some friendly banter but there is a line that should not be crossed.
Regards
Dave
Dave,
We share the same corner my friend and I echo your sentiments! Thank you for your support! 👍🏻
Gerry
Hi Gerry,
Hmmm, this post came at the right time, it does all get a bit much sometimes! Probably best if I go and put the kettle on?
Then take a deep breath and return with a much refreshed, positive attitude towards my laptop... which HATES me today!! Breathe... more time out, walk around the garden or laptop through window?!
Nope, I am calm and this can be managed, I am the mistress of my own WA destiny after all! Have a good day folks, Sue 😉
Haha! Ahhh! Those laptops! My garden will always do it for me...even in winter! 🥶
Thanks for sharing...
Gerry 👍🏻

Gerry, thank you for this post! I know what you are talking about. So far I've been lucky in this regard, don't have any experience like Marketa or some other girls.
You are a very gentle and kind man and it is nice to have such people here raising the bar.
Lenka
Lenka, thank you so much ! Your comments are always so kind and thoughtful! I appreciate you!!
Gerry 🤗
I appreciate your kindness. It never stops amazing me it is possible to read or perceive so much just from words as we all here are only virtual friends. Yet with some it feels like we know each other in reality.
Lenka,
I couldn’t agree with you more! Must have something to do with the “stars aligning” as our dear friend Heidi suggest! I look forward to all of you each day...and I feel bad when I miss out!
Gerry 🤗
Me too, Gerry. The more so that I decided to focus on my new website and don't spend much time on WA. I do miss it a lot but have to be more productive as I have my vision of where I want to be in one year. But I hope one day we will all see each other (I mean all of us who feel close to each other). You are among my top ten, my friend so I'm sure we will be having a party under the stars one day with Heidi, Janie and a couple of others :)
It would, woudn't it?! Remember we have special power :) so we will make it happen!
Love
Lenka
Lenka,
I am happy to be passing through your world! Thanks for making sure I stay a while!
Gerry 🤗
