Is it better not to know?! Problems with indexing pages
At the start of this year, I really started to refocus my efforts on two of my websites that had fallen on hard times. I started posting again much more frequently and on this particular site, I'm now at 12 pages, 120 posts and 853 comments, as you can see from the site manager page screenshot below. I think it has about 46 posts at the start of the year, so I'm pleased with my efforts on this score.
Indexing issues
My problem is, that checking on Google Search Console for pages that have been indexed has been a very up and down experience since the beginning of the year. I've checked regularly and know that not ALL pages will be indexed for a variety of reasons. However, I do need my main posts and pages to be indexed so they have a chance of being ranked, and this seems to be a horrible rollercoaster ride.
Having thought I'd got it all sussed by checking and updating the pages, so that I had over 300 pages indexed, you can see that this has dropped again down to 22! See graph below.
I'm pretty sure that my content is good, up-to-date and relevant, but I'm starting to tear my hair out trying to get the pages indexed.
- I know how to submit siteplans and do that regularly
- I know how to request pages are indexed and do that when I publish a post
- I know how to check the 'affected' pages and instigate a fix if needed
I'm just at a loss now for what to do next!
Any help from the community will be greatly appreciated.

My only suggestion right now is to build more strong social links, 1 post a day to the above and it will be .
Let me know if you'd like a free SEO report. One thing I noticed is you might look at your page loading times as it can help with ranking.
But for indexing and boosting your indexing efforts, I would definitely get going on some social network posting from the big social media channels, ie. Instagram, at least a LinkedIN profile, Youtube Channel ect.

I've been working on Facebook and Instagram for a couple of months now so I can let you know how things are going there. It's still quite early days I guess but I have posted at least once a day, if not 2 or 3 times a day. Recently, I've been doing more reels and stories which I have not previously done, but that has literally only been in the last week or so.

It seems that we are on the same stage, Gail :) I have exactly the same issue and I don't think it's something we do wrong.
I would also like to know what is causing this and if there is any solution.

Glad I'm not alone here, Maria, but sorry for your experience too.
I'm going to see what solutions people come up with and start by working on those.

Gail, you know more about SEO than I do, but looking at your website, I would suggest examining your pages. (I need to do the same myself and keep putting it off). Some have very little on them. You have lots of excellent posts, but for a returning visitor like me - if I want to get back to a post that I remember reading before, it's not easy to find it again. Perhaps Google thinks that it's not a good user experience. I would also take out the WA page, especially since you now have a dedicated site for promoting WA. Those are my main observations as a visitor. But there are lots of experienced SEO members that may be able to give you more insight. I really think your content is very very good and should be able to rank on Google.

Hi Gail, your website is amazing. I have been immersed in the LOA for many years. It's a subject I am passionate about, but don't have a website in this category. When I first started at Wealthy affiliate, I had a website called Life Attitudes. I wrote about sound therapy, crystals, Reiki and things like that, and although, I had a brick-and-mortar metaphysical shop and healing center, I just wasn't passionate about the website I started. I printed all of my blog posts before shutting down that website, because I thought my writing was good. I wasn't using AI much at all during that time.
Anyhow, I will visit your website often from this point on.
