Morning to all my lovely Wealthy Affiliate friends. I hope you wake up refreshed and raring to go this weekend.

I was just responding to a comment on my website this morning and I thought I'd do a little test. First, I wrote a comment myself and then I asked AI to generate a comment for me. The results are below. I've changed the name to protect the innocent(!) but I always use names where appropriate.

The test was on!

robot and girl boxing

The results

You can see both results below. I was pleased that both responses were quite close in terms of:

  1. Thanking and acknowledging the original comment
  2. Responding to questions within the comment
  3. Encouraging and asking for further interaction

One thing I was able to do easily from the WA Comments screen when answering personally was to add links to other areas of my website as a natural flow on to other articles. I've put these in bold and underline (no actual links here) just to show where I was able to do this. I could have done this with the AI-generated one, but it would be another step in the WordPress back office to remember.

So, what have I learned?

There are a couple of things I've learned from this little test, which are:

1) My writing style is not very different to the AI-style from Chat GPT although I did add in more personal experience. I'm not sure if that means I'm writing more like a robot but I ALWAYS edit my AI content to give it a personal touch and I advise everyone to do the same.

2) I could add some links to other articles on my site easily from WA comments.

3) AI obviously thinks it important to do the 3 points listed above (Acknowledge, Respond, Engage) when responding to comments. I also think this is a good stance to take.

4) I would use AI again for answering comments but I'd personalise them and remember to add in links where possible.

5) AI-generated comments are longer than the average ones that real people write, so maybe this is a red-flag or a template - what do your think?

Let me know in the comments below...

My Personal Response

Hi Mary. Good to meet you and thank you for your kind comments. I'm so pleased that you got a lot from the article. It's ALL about feelings and emotions - that is the language of the universe so have a look at my article on that subject to read more. To answer your question, there are lots of things you can do to develop an abundance mentality but the best ones I've found are:

1) Meditation- even 15 minutes a day can put you in a great mindset and connect you to your Higher Self. I do this every day and it really does help.

2) Gratitude- write a gratitude journal daily, or simply take a few minutes each day to look around you and be grateful for the things you already have. I find this to be excellent at just shifting me out of any negative thoughts that creep in.

3) Celebrate everything that comes your way, whether it's 20p or a discount at the supermarket. They are all reminders that good things are always happening.

I hope this helps. Let me know what you find works best for you.

Gail

The AI-generated Response

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm really glad the article resonated with you and that the perspective on abundance felt refreshing. It’s true—when we shift our focus from just material wealth to emotions like joy, gratitude, and freedom, it completely transforms how we experience life.

I love that the section on the law of attraction stood out to you. Our emotions are such powerful magnets, and consciously cultivating high-vibration feelings can make a huge difference in what we attract.

As for daily practices to develop an abundance mentality, here are a few I highly recommend:

  1. Gratitude Practice – Start or end your day by listing three things you’re grateful for. This trains your mind to focus on what you already have rather than what’s lacking.
  2. Affirmations with Emotion – Rather than just reciting affirmations, feel the truth of them as you say them. For example, instead of just saying, I am abundant, try to embody that feeling in the moment.
  3. Giving Generously – Whether it’s time, kindness, or resources, giving without fear reinforces the belief that there’s always more than enough.
  4. Visualisation with Feeling – Spend a few minutes each day imagining your ideal life, but more importantly, feel the emotions of already living it.
  5. Mindfulness and Reframing – Notice when scarcity thoughts arise and consciously reframe them into abundant perspectives.

These are simple but incredibly powerful when done consistently. I’d love to hear which ones resonate with you or if you have any practices that have worked well for you!

Nice little experiment Gale and I have absolutely nothing against using AI for various tasks ( I use it each and every day)!!

But... when giving comments on others websites or content then I am a true believer in 100% human written responses!!

Call me old fashioned maybe, but.... that is just the way I role my friend!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)

I'm with you on that. I use AI every day now (never thought I would, but there it is). Just need to be discerning... like using social media or watching the news!

Absolutely Gail!! :-)

Good morning Gail,

Thank you for the results of your experiment and for showing us all the results.

AI is great for many tasks, but when it comes to content, comments, replies, etc, we need to make it our own. As soon as I start reading an article and I realise it's AI, I immediately leave.

A popular trait on Wealthy Affiliate at the moment is to write AI content on your personal website, then accept AI comments within the comments and reply to the comments using AI! This action is absolutely appalling, I genuinely think that long-term there will be a price to pay for this type of content and rightly so.

I'm not implying that you have carried out the above action, but I do think we really need to be careful and right genuine quality content.

Once again, I appreciate you sharing your experiment, as I believe it will help others.

Wishing you all the best and a very happy Sunday.

Roy

Thanks for this, Roy. I totally agree. I do love using AI to get me started but I see this like using the instructions to build a tree house. It's great to have a plan or template, but every tree is different and you will need to make adjustments, corrections to really make the tree house your own. It only takes a little bit of extra effort but you can end up with something truly unique!

Good morning Gail,

I agree that AI definitely has some fantastic uses, but we just need to be careful how we use it and not become lazy. I see many people who claim that they are making content their own, but when I read, the content is absolutely appalling and blatantly obvious AI content. The treehouse is a good example of making adjustments.

The only reason I am fairly firm about not using AI content is because I see so many Wealthy Affiliate members using AI content, which I feel long term will end in disappointment as their websites will not be ranked very highly.

Have a fantastic day.

Roy

Hi Roy
Thanks for your insights here. I guess only time with tell and we'll have to wait and see about rankings. Thanks, Gail

Good morning Gail,

It's a pleasure!

These are only my personal insights and how I see it. It will be interesting to see how things work out; you definitely can't beat that personal touch!

Wishing you a great day.

Roy

You too, Roy.

Gail,
I have found the points you provided to be very true but with the addition of being at peace in your heart and soul. Your mind may try to distract you but as you have emphasized meditation may help take care of that distraction. Great advice to us all.
Jerry

Hi Jerry. Thanks for your input and I agree. Peace is found when we're not following our ego!

Very interesting Gail. I never thought of adding links in the comments. Great idea!

From a human standpoint, I like the first response better. It’s way more natural.

You can spot the AI with words like resonated, transform, and reinforces, along with robotic phrases like “consciously cultivating high-vibration feelings” and “when we shift our focus.”

Hi Steve. Yes, I think you can spot the AI. I also think the formatting of the answer gives it away, so if I do use AI, I always change that too. Thanks for stopping by and reading. Have a great day.

I am a bit skeptical about comments that I have requested. They come back so fast and usually from the same “people.” It’s always around 5-7 lines too.

That's interesting. I try to write original comments on people's sites as I'm aware that most of us can spot the AI-generated ones nowadays anyway.

I totally agree, Steve. Until I came back to WA a couple of months ago I had only heard of AI and never used it. Now I use it a lot and can immediately spot AI generated content from the phrases it uses as well as the formatting. It likes to create nice sub-headings. If I am asking it for information, I am perfectly happy with this. But if I see it on someone's website, I click away. I feel if I had wanted an AI opinion, I could have asked it myself.

No, robotics is boring!

OK. I like to use it to do some of the basic work, but I'm too much of an individual to give over everything to AI. Thanks for reading and your comments. Have a great day. Gail

Congratulations, it's too "bushy" I think!

Do you mean the comments are too long?
