Hellllp...
I would like to work on my site now I'm having a free day :-) But it looks like the server is down...... My site hostd at WA will not load. Not on different device

I just checked, I know my site is running. Checked it by proxy. It has something to do with firewall...When I turned Firewall off just now, my site loaded again. Firewall "on" is important. Now that I've turned firewall on again, my site still loads.... Don't know why...Hope it stays this way :-)

No servers are down and your website is fully functioning as expected. Your ISP has cached your DNS as all Internet Service Providers do. Might take up to 24 hours for your website to show on your end. For everyone else it's up though because we are visiting the site for the first time and do not have the cached DNS.

Use this site and you'll see that your site is up:

http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

Yes off course, forgot about this option ;-) I will do that!

You should open a hosting support ticket. Just click on Websites & Hosting in the main menu and click on Support Tickets on the blue bar. Rich.

Server down?

Server down?

Hi, Can anyone help me out? I asked this question in different forums, also here, but do not get a reply. So I hope someone here can help me out:I've tried for 2 days to set my s

I'm having the same problem since I updated wordpress to latest version - haven't had time to track it down yet. I think there is also the issue that Google has to reindex the page for the new info to show up so it might be a while before you know if you've fixed it.

Frouck,

Without knowing everything about your site, I have a suggestion to offer you.

1. Select "Settings" from the left pane.
2. Click on "Reading"
3. In the section "Front Page Displays" be sure you have "Static Page" option selected.
4. In the "Front Page" box be sure that your home page is selected. Open the drop down and select your home page title. If not, this will default to the pre-created page. This is what is happening now.
5. In the "Posts Page" box, select "Blog". This is your blog page on your website. When you open the drop down box and "Blog" does not appear, create a new page named "Blog" and publish it. It will be added to the drop down menu list so you can select it. By the way, you need not fill in any information in the SEO or type any text on the page. Just create a new page called Blog.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

George

Thank you George!
But what I don't understand either, is when I want to select the "static page" option....it shows only the "about me-page" wich I created 2 days ago and is the only visible page in the admin untill now. There IS a home page on the frontside, but it doesn't appear in the admin-pages... So I cannot choose this page when I want the static page option.
In the editor/files, this page is the theme page or "front-page.php" and this one is not showing in the admin...as I said. It becomes a little bit confusing now...

So what now?

In the comments before the code in this front-page.php they say:

The main front page file.
* This is the most generic template file in a WordPress theme
* and one of the two required files for a theme (the other being style.css).
* It is used to display a page when nothing more specific matches a query.
* E.g., it puts together the home page when no home.php file exists.

This is a piece of the Header-code:

<head>
<meta charset="<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
<title>
<?php wp_title(''); ?>
</title>
<?php if (is_front_page()) { ?>
<?php if (get_option('colorway_keyword') != '') { ?>
<meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo get_option('colorway_keyword'); ?>" />
<?php } else {

} ?>
<?php if (get_option('colorway_description') != '') { ?>

<?php } else {

} ?>
<?php if (get_option('colorway_author') != '') { ?>
<meta name="author" content="<?php echo get_option('colorway_author'); ?>" />
<?php } else {

} ?>

I had a similar problem, I got to the home page in the area where you select your keywords right where you started the site. Hope this helps! Bernie

No thanks Bernie...Still not a solution...
I do not understand why the front-page.php is not showing or editable in the pages area..But is showing on the website itself...
