Sumome A Free Wordpress PlugIn

Do you have a Wordpress blog? How do you add names to your list? Most people just place there optin form on their home page and hope for the best. Well, there are a few things that need improvements with that approach. The biggest thing is your future customer missing the optin form and never joining your list.

...and that doesn't meant that they didn't like your site or your content. They could have been distracted by social media or the television or their children. They could have been on the fence about joining your list and just clicked off of your page because of a quick impulse. They could have clicked off of your page by accident (If that happens, most people will not come back).

The point is that you would miss them; they would never sign up for your list. There is a simple, easy to use, solution for that. It is called Sumome. Sumome is a FREE Wordpress plugin that allows you to place a light box on your site that appears when your future customer is about to leave. It detects when your customer is near the X. It then blacks out everything except an autoresponder box that you wrote. This gives your customer one last opportunity to join your list.

Sumome easily integrates with your autoresponder. So, when someone adds their name to your list, it actually goes to a list that you have already prebuilt just for them.

Installation to this plugin is easy as well. To install Sumome you just have to go to the dashboard of your wordpress site. Go to plugins, then add new and search for Sumome. Install and activate it and you are done. You later have to go to the Sumome store to connect it site. However, that is easy as well

I do have to warn you, there is a paid option to this store. I guess that is why they call it a store. However, you are not required to buy anything at all and it still works great. I use the free version myself.

Through building my site, I have learned of a great deal of plugins to make your website more user friendly and functional. I will cover them in future posts. However, you obviously don't want to use all of them. The rule of thumb is to use five plugins or less. Anything more could slow your site down.

For sure the "5 plugins" rule was true in biblical times, but hasn't been true for a decade

The general rule of thumb of five plug-ins is not as realistic as you think. Many of us have great speed and functionality with 10-12. Depending on the type of site you are building, you need that many.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the heads up.

Here is some training I did about the number of plug-ins we need. The comments from different members about the subject are additionally very informative.
