Live On Facebook

I went live on Facebook! This is a huge barrier for me. Language difficulties, insecurities and stage fright. The worst thing with the whole thing is that I'm afraid of not get my point out. To really talk about what I'm supposed to talk about.

So I figured that a good idea is to WRITE a blog post afterwards and add the things that I forget, or didn't explain enough.

Plus, extra content right there! πŸ˜€

I had a list with talking points in front of me. And the more I sat there with my iPhone in one hand and my iPad in the other, the more nervous I got. I left my iPad at home, went out for a walk, and started to film.

Anyway, I thought I should share my cheat sheet so you can see my way of thinking.

I'm eager to hear your experience of being in front of the camera and what preparing you are doing, if any at all!

Live talking points (June the 8th. 2020)

Introduction of Fred

- Started Within Affiliate marketing August 2019 through blogging

- Didn't know anything about website creation, content creation or anything about online business.

- Needed an alternative to a regular 9-5 due chronic back pains

- I just want to make money online without exposure.

- Live together with a wonderful fiancee since 2014.

My intention of this live

- be more confident in front of camera

- A way to provide value

- Thank Andrew, Seth, Niklas and many other to be inspiration

Today's talking point

- Find a mentor, or a coach. Someone who can hold your hand.

- Not someone who tells you what to do, but actually show you how to do it.

- My biggest mistake was not asking questions and thinking about doing everything myself. Rush through the process. Everyone does this classic mistake. Not because of ego, but excitement and lack of understanding of the process. Be part of several opportunities and promote everything for everyone. Be more targeted.

Recap and get out!

I didn't manage to get my content out at all. It was a disaster! Well, it can only get better, right?

What I want to share

started out with online business back in August 2019. I needed an alternative income source to provide for me and my fiancee. I haven't been able to keep a regular 9-5 job because of chronic back pains.

I have struggled with that since 2009 and haven't had any steady job since. I get some money from the government, but not enough. So I had to do something. All I know was that I had to go online, with the intention to help people in the same boat.

I didn't know where to begin or what I was getting my self into. All I know was that I would do it easy as possible, with almost no work and I would do it fast as possible. And with no exposure what so ever.

Needless to say that I had the wrong idea, wrong mentality and I needed a reality check! However, I would say that I just didn't know any better. In my opinion is wrong to say people are wrong. Just lack of the proper know how!

Because, if you say someone is wrong, they get offended and go into defensive mode. Is that the purpose of marketing? Is that the best way of communication?

People who are new to online business, or any kind of business, need proper education. They need someone who has succeeded and have experience in the business. They need someone who can stand over their shoulder and give the proper knowledge.

If someone just want to tell you how to do it, they are not interested in you or your success. Stay away. Make properly research before you choose your training program and your coach.

Start on the right foot and focus on one thing of the time. Choose one niche. Don't go to broad and not too narrow. If you are involved in several types of businesses and programs you going to be overwhelmed and do mistakes.

I went too broad and want to please everyone. Now I need to scale down, that costs time and money.

Thanks to everyone who has giving me a lot of hand holding and helping me out on my journey! I appreciate you all and hopefully you get some value out of this! Have a wonderful week!

I want to hear your opinions and how you do your broadcasts!

All the best,

Fred.

Hello Fred @Fredeim88! Great job in getting out of your comfort zone. I understand how you feel about going live. I also did a live broadcast for my cooking demo since the end of April. I am still a little nervous about doing it. I made mistakes here and there but I think I am getting better at it.

I think it is better that I am still making mistakes when there are not so many people watching yet. I Invited my friends and families to watch my broadcast. I made it short and quick. I notice that there is definitely more traffic to my FB page after my Live broadcasts.

I found free open software that compliments Facebook. I can have more control on my broadcast. I created a tutorial for it (along with a series of how to go LIVE with FB). If interested, please visit .

I hope that helps. Please feel free to reach out if you have further questions.

Amazing training! I bookmark it for further use. I asked a question there as well since it looks like you have experience in the field.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 😊 πŸ‘

It's best to do the mistakes in the beginning. It can only get better.

All the best,
Fred.

Thank you, Fred! Hopefully, the tutorial makes your life easier. Because not only you need to deal with your inner self, you also need to deal with the technical aspect as well... =)

Good luck with your FB LIVE progress.

I appreciate your help and your support! Thank you so much! 😊

My pleasure, Fred. We can learn from each other mistakes and lift each other to succeed. It sounds like a cliche but I do believe it really works. =)

Hi Fred,
That is Awesome that you took the leap and held the live video!
How did it go? Lots of viewers?
Have a Great Day!
-Chuck

My oppinion is that it didn't go very well. I I feel that I didn't manage to provide with the information that I had in mind. However, it can only get better and hopefully some get something out of it.

Have a wonderful day Chuck! 😊

I'm not doing videos yet, but I am planning to at some future point. My plan is to rework my website and write the script for my broadcast into each article. In other words the article becomes the words for the broadcast. Then I will point the viewers to my website and invite them to visit.

I will use Vimeo or YouTube video, and then put those scripts into a powerpoint program (from my articles on my website) and I don't have to show myself live except at the beginning and end until I get more comfortable doing it.

That is the basic plan right now. It isn't too elaborate, but it is a plan.

This is a great idea, and is actually something like that I play around with to leverage on videos.

But the main problem with using PowerPoint as a video is that I have problem with the format. The screen is to small and can't even see the text....

Maybe you have a solution? Maybe someone else want to give me some pointers?
