Creativity Is King On Pinterest and Happy April Fools Day 2024!
(Title image created with DALL-E 3)
Hi WA Friends!
I hope you all had a great Easter, for those who celebrated it, and Happy April Fools Day!
Today, I'm combining some advice on how to score impressions, saves, and outbound clicks on Pinterest, April Fools Day, and my typical guitar shenanigans, so buck up! Lol ๐
April Fools Day
(Created with DALL-E 3)My dad was a great jokester and loved having fun on April Fools Day! He just couldn't get enough of being the center of attention! I grew up the same way, but used my guitar playing as my spotlight. Lol
Each April Fools Day my dad would come up with a series of diabolical pranks to fool as many family members and friends as possible. We were easy targets as children until we grew old enough to see through his ploys, and at that point, we pretended to be fooled because we knew it made him happy.
After he bamboozled us, he would bring the family to a drugstore down the street that had this great "soda fountain," where we would have an ice cream soda, hamburger or hotdog with fries, and a big handful of candy. What wonderful memories from the 1950s!
Gettin' Funky With Pinterest!
I frequently use some of my dad's attention-grabbing techniques to make my Pinterest pins stand out among the endless variety I see from my competitors.
Imagination can give you a competitive edge on a platform like Pinterest or Instagram, which are graphic search engines!
Also, if you're someone who gets bored easily, like I do, or you work as a full-time online marketer, there's nothing like getting a little crazy with your pin designs to break up the day!
A Marketing And Sales Lesson From The Past!
A while back, I created a post on how to improve Pinterest productivity with niche combinations:
I did some market research on Pinterest and found that there was a correlation between people who liked guitars and those who liked cars. I also found that many of those pins featured guitars and cars that were the same or very similar colors.
Interestingly enough, many of the paints that Fender used for their guitars back in the '50s were the same colors as those on popular cars. Fender looked at which car models appealed to younger people and sold the best, and used those colors for their electric guitars. Brilliant, right?
Examples Of Attention-Getting Pins
Making pins combing guitars with guitars is working well for me. Here are five examples of pins that use this marketing combination in imaginative ways.
I come up with the basic ideas and let AI generate the pins using ChatGPT4 and DALL-E 3 with accompanying info. Fun for the entire family! Lol
For these pin types, I link them to an exclusive page for "VIP Pinterest Users that like Guitars" on my website that leads them deeper into my blog content.
Notice how most of the guitars are the same color as the cars.

Using AI pictures for pinterest or fb has great results for me as well Frank! The bolder the better lol. Sometimes someone is mad saying " this is AI". But I just click "like", say yes indeed, and move on. Extra engagement for the algoritms haha!
Great pics.
Keep rocking!
Lizzy
Thanks, Lizzy
I only had one person respond, but not necessarily complain, that I was using AI for images. I responded like you do. Lol ๐
Youโre killing it on Pinterest and FB, so keep up the great work! ๐๐

My clever Frank, did I say before I am addicted to Pinterest, right? Lol!!!! :)
I have started my new profile on Pinterest on 17th of March and I reached already 1300 impressions. I did the same research as yours. Since I was promoting my Easter Collection Cards and Products, I searched for RELATED THEMES (easter brunch, treats, decor and so on) and created a cohesive aesthetic (some pins were my original photos, others were created with Ai). I automated the pins scheduling: just one pin everyday!
Going back to your graphics, I LOVE the third ones about Guitar and Olympic Games. The colors and the themes together evoke great values of the past. I would explore deeper this color palette which works perfectly and also I would work more on the vintage look of your graphics (from 50's to 70's years).
But, look at your stats to see which of these pins performs better and create more of them :)))
Anyway, very great job! Creativity is the real power! Yeahhhh!!!!
P.s. What is your pinterest link? Let's follow and support each other!

I always enjoy looking at your artwork. I am just now getting into using AI for art, and I love playing around with it. While some may say it is not really art, I disagree. The create has to write the script that is going to develop those amazing pictures. That in itself takes artistic talent.

Thanks, Nancy! ๐
I fully agree that the quality of the prompt makes all the difference in the quality of the image.
Iโm sure there are those who are much better at it than I am, especially those with an artistic background, but Iโm having fun and making great progress on Pinterest.
