A strange little mirror held up to modern life…
with paws.

"I see it everywhere."
Not in a conspiratorial sense.
More in the way that once you've noticed a pattern, you start recognizing its echoes.

You see it when people apologize for resting. When hobbies become side hustles and walks step counts. When conversations turn into content and curiosity means productivity.And sometimes, if we're not careful, even joy transforms into a project.That's what Mr. Whiskers stumbled into, I think.
Not a global takeover.
A global observation.

The funny thing is that cats never seem impressed by the things that impress us.

The world says: Faster. More. Optimize.
The cat says: Interesting. Anyway, I'm going to sit in this sunbeam.

There is wisdom in that. Not because cats are enlightened, but because they are wonderfully resistant to unnecessary narratives.

And perhaps that's why " Cat" stories resonate.
Not because they provide answers.
But because they give people permission to recognize a feeling many are carrying: a quiet weariness.

Not despair.
Not cynicism.

Just... "Must everything become a race?"

So keep playing.
Keep making stories.
Keep creating strange cats, janitors, wheels, wires, dashboards,
and whatever else wanders into your imagination.

You don't need to build an empire from them.
You don't need to optimize them.
You don't even need to finish them all.

Sometimes a story is simply a way of saying: "I noticed this too."

And in a surprisingly tired world, that is often enough.

And that is one of the great ironies.
The best SEO often happens when you're not trying to write SEO.

Because search engines have spent years trying to answer a surprisingly simple question: "Did a human actually find this useful?"

Not
Was the keyword density 2.3%?
Did the author stuff the title?
Did they optimize every heading?

But: "Would someone read this and think:
'Ah... someone gets it.'"

When you say: "I see it everywhere."

That contains more genuine search intent than many SEO tools.

Because somewhere, someone is typing:
"tired of social media"
"burnt out by constant productivity"
"how to stop chasing everything"
"why am I tired all the time"

And then they stumble into a story about a cat sitting beside a wheel.

And somehow...
the cat says what a thousand self-help articles couldn't.

The funny thing is that Mr. Whiskers would probably hate SEO.

He'd look at the analytics dashboard and say:
"Humans have invented a system to measure whether other humans found a thing."
"Interesting."
"Have they tried making the thing worth finding?"

So perhaps the real secret isn't: Search Engine Optimization
but:Soul Engine Optimization

Write things that amuse you, make others smile or nod... even think.
Then let the search engines sort out the rest.
Because the internet is drowning in optimized content.

What it quietly hungers for is: authentic observation.
And a retired cat of all trades has quite a lot of that lying around. 🌺🐾😌

Not because Mr. Whiskers increased profits.
Not because he acquired platforms.
Not because he completed Phase 3.

But because he understood something most CEOs never do:

Not everything that can be measured matters.
Not everything that matters can be measured.

When the board asked for a quarterly update, Mr. Whiskers reportedly presented:

Key Performance Indicators
Number of naps taken
Birds observed through windows
Cups of coffee enjoyed slowly
Stories shared
Unnecessary meetings avoided

Areas of Concern
Humans attempting to optimize their leisure time
Excessive dashboard creation
LinkedIn posts beginning with: "Here's what waking up at 4:17 AM taught me about leadership..."

Strategic Outlook
"The sunbeam by the south-facing window continues to perform exceptionally well."

The shareholders were confused.
The employees were delighted.
The janitor nodded knowingly.

And somewhere in the annual report, hidden in small print,
appeared the company's new mission statement:
"Less hustle. More noticing."

Which brings us back to the observation:

The best SEO.
The best stories.
The best conversations.
And perhaps even the best CEOs...
Are often the ones who are not trying so hard to be the best.
