My saving graces are my balcony pool when I have time during the day and my aircon in the bedroom for the night!!

I do stay in the aircon as much as possible and thankfully there is not a lot of work which I need to leave the apartment for right now as everyone is on holiday!!

No salt in the pool water here though as my pup loves to swim in it as well as drink it!!

Only two more days to survive though... then we are heading South on holiday for a couple of weeks and things (surprisingly look much cooler there)!!

That is a very keen observation, never thought of the learning proces that way! Can you extend on that with some examples 😋

Kind of my life story...

I went to college - that's a group setting, that's structured. Large lecture halls, smaller class groups, and occasional small team projects. And very structured. And you have multiple groups you're interacting with in and out of your major, depending on the course.

I went to graduate school - class of four, we all had different goals; so that was kind of structured, but not really a group; my office mate was using this as a springboard to business school; I wanted to be a biomedical engineer, and the third person wanted to become an electrical engineer in a biomedical company, the fourth just a straight electrical engineer.

I went to law school - online, work at your own pace, just finish by the end of the year. So not really group and only weakly structured. We occasionally studied together, but mostly on our own. Most of the students were typical of what I have seen over the years of online students; drop in, drop out. So we were pretty much on our own except for some help from faculty (but frankly, they were mostly lawyers who couldn't practice, so they were not really that helpful)

Self-driving car, AI - this was all through coursera and another similar massive online course group whose name escapes me at the moment. There, you are moving at your own pace through a somewhat structured course. You don't know anyone, everyone is in different parts of the course. Whether or not you have mentors is hit and miss. To no group.

Cybersecurity - about 4 years ago, my manager asked me to get certified. I said "OK, what's that?" So I spent 6 months online learning. Totally unstructured, and no groups. I joined a few online communities, but everyone was in a different place going in different directions. I got my first certification in 6 months, another about a year after that.

Here - Everyone is in a completely different place I think. We all seem to be in different niches. So on one hand, there's no group. On the other hand, there is support even though we're not in the same place.

There are a bunch of courses, but once you get through the initial training it's very unstructured. Under the covers, I think there is a method to the madness; just haven't found it yet. I'm looking.

Wow... and which one did you like most, looking back?

Graduate school was the best of all worlds. I could pick my own direction but it was still structured and I felt like I was part of a team.

But I really found my way in learning online,however. I do miss the team part, and sometimes I need the structure. But I try to make it work.

And related to website building and affiliate marketing in a team that comes near to that, how would that look for you?

Pretty good! We would learn from each other and feed off our individual strengths
