Persistence And Commitment Pay Off

My cat offers such an excellent example of persistence. Currently, his campaign centers around persuading me to let him outside.

I won't take him out without a harness and leash. Much as I'd like to defer to his wishes, I know the end result: A mass slaughter of birds.

It's no fun denying the cat, but I just can't do it. I couldn't handle the carnage.

Instead, I'm considering a compromise. I believe I'll ask someone to build him a catio. At least, then he could have some extended time outside if he wished, It's still not freedom, but an advance in the right direction.

The cat offers such a good example of persistence. Not just every day, but several times a day, he will put in his request to go outside. He's learned to say "out" pretty well.,

I'm trying to emulate the cat. I've discovered that the written part I submitted with my YouTube videos is all wrong, and I have to redo all of them -- 49, to be exact. The videos are fine -- it's just the title and description. It's going to take a little while, and I've had to stop progress in other areas until this one is corrected.

I've had excellent help from a few people. Marion Black wins the Longevity Award, as she has had a great deal of patience with my many questions, and she has gotten me turned around and headed in the right direction. She deserves lots of gold stars for being so helpful.

I must say, though, that the cat deserves his own share of gold stars for providing such a good example.

Is it possible that he has instinctively followed the path of persistence? The following ideas are ones you want to encompass in your own journey.

You must keep yourself accountable for your progress. Reaffirm yours strengths and do away with negative aspects of your behavior. Make a plan of action and then monitor your plan, to make sure you follow it.

Don't lose sight of Napoleon Hill's words: "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve."

Think about what that means for you. If you have set a goal for which you have a burning desire, you can find a way to reach that goal. You must simply consider all the possible ways of advancing.

That's the purpose of my videos. I started the YouTube channel to call attention to my jewelry boutique, which is a sub-domain of my website. Now I just have to tweak all of the videos so they offer the right information. I'll get it figured out!

Believe in your ability to carry out your plan, once you have made it. Such plans, even when in need of shoring up here and there, can help develop persistence.

Develop the will-power to stay on course until it becomes a habit. The direct result is persistence.

Have you written out a statement of your life purpose? If not, you might try to do so. The internet has all sorts of tutorials to teach you how to do it. Knowing your purpose can also help with persistence.

I once took a three-day workshop from the Nikken company called "Humans Being More". On the third day, we spent a lot of time researching how to write a purpose, and then we wrote one. Here is what I wrote:

"My purpose is to live joyfully and in harmony with Earth Mother and her children. I will learn all I can from the world and people around me, write down what I learn, and pass it on to those who follow me. Above all, I will love the dance of life."

Develop your habits of persistence to aid you in moving closer to your goal.

Persistence usually pays off Fran.
It made me smile when you said your cat can say 'out'. My stepmother (84) bought a pup in late 2019 and he seems to talk and answer back when she tells him off, its very funny. He too is very persistent in his desire to make it clear what he wants.
The mind and the mindset we have a very big contributors to success.

Yes, mindset is so important. If we can't start with belief, how far will we go?

I do love these animals that try to talk. Sometimes Mocha seems to be saying full sentences...what fun to try to interpret!

Without the right mindset nothing gets achieved.

It is amazing to see them trying so hard to make us understand. My daughters labrador does it too.

When we lived on our previous house in Caloocan City, we have a lot of cats the we were feeding and even dogs we have two there.
Pets are considered as a family member once they stayed for a couple of years in our house we used to loved them like a child.
But since we moved in our house here in Quezon City we haven't any one of cats and dogs, I aske my children if they want more, they said they need to be outside the house otherwise they will poop inside and it create a terrified odor around the place so until now we are already 15 years inhour new house here in QC. we decided not to have some pets, perhaps I have some fishes in my fishpond in our backyard.
I enjoy reading your blog Fran and many thanks for this.

Cats are indeed such wonderful pets. I have always loved them.

If you get a cat and clean the litter box once or twice a day, it will not stink. My house never smells like cat poop or cat urine. All it takes is regular, thorough cleaning.

Do you subscribe to my cat website? Is that what you mean by "your blog"? The website name is on my profile, and if you subscribe, you get a copy of every new post.

A catio....that sounds marketable...grin. what a great idea, the cat will appreciate that effort more than you know.

I once had a tabby that loved to be outside on the 3rd floor balcony, where the railing was slatted so she could gaze across the grounds below. She would stand up, prarie dog style, and turn her head as if to sense and smell the outside.

Yes, the you tube dilemma, yet you will be a pro when you finish the edits...grin.

I think MarionBlack rocks, too. She has helped me from time to time, dont see her here as much, but am glad to hear rhat she is still active.

Keep at it Fran, you will succeed in no time...

Rudy

That elusive success -- regular buyers in my store would be sufficint.

Think more like the cat and less like the cat's owner...grin.

How do you get the attention of your cat?

What is the cat attracted to?

Bright shiny objects that flash with the right amount of sun or light?

Think about the display case of a jeweler.. glass and lights to show off the merchandise.

Just some thoughts....

Rudy

Absolutely wonderful example Fran of persistence.

Good to hear about your You Tube experience.

Kind regards
Erica

Thanks, Erica. Ah, yes, YouTube is an adventure. I am making progress.

I took a peek at your YouTube. It is great and very well presented.

I loved also reading some of your posts on Alaska. Very beautiful writing.

Best wishes
Erica

Thank you for the compliments. Glad you liked the YouTube videos, because the videos will remain as they are. However, am in the process of changing all the titles (half done) and then have to rewrite each video description, correcting links, etc. It's a big job, but will get there. Had to stop for present because I have to post a blog today and just got it written!

You are welcome. Hopefully, you get to resolve the issues in due time.

The YouTube channel looks great that is for sure.

Erica

Fran, thanks for your encouraging post. It is brimful of motivational advice. We need loads of initiative and persistence to succeed in our line of business.
Your cat typifies the never-give up persistence we should be applying to our businesses

Yep, he sure does. He's an inspiration.

Very true words, Fran. We all need to do that better. You'll get your problem solved, and Mocha will try to remain patient for his Catio.

Jeff😹

Ha! A cat, trying to be patient? Not sure that works, but problems do get solved. My YouTube problems included.

You do have a good point there, Fran.

I know all your issues will be solved in short order.

Jeff

I live your analogy. Thanks so much for sharing!
Persistence and commitment are extremely important to building a successful online business.
Staying the course without distraction is difficult but can be done, lol.
Cheers
Suzanne

Yes, they are important, and with this cat around, I won't forget them.

hahaha!! awesome!

So is the cat, actually.

Hi, Fran

This is an outstanding post and a beautiful-looking cat, who’s persistence we should all strive to emulate! 👍👍

Marion Black Rocks!, but also watch Eric’s YouTube webinar series. Those classes are incredible and have everything you need to get going in the right direction with setting up your YouTube channel, along with all the Video SEO tricks for success!

I don’t blame you that you won’t let the cat roam free to wreak its destruction.

What did you name the cat, Rambo? 😎

Actually, that's not my cat, but he looks similar. Actually, my cat is even more beautiful.

Marion is wonderful. I most likely will watch Eric's videos, because I like his stuff.

Rambo would be a good name for the cat, but he's called Mocha.

Your post is bursting with good advice, thank you!
I'm sure you'll get everything dialed in quickly and to your liking.

Stephen

Well, thanks...not sure about quickly, but it will get there.

Fingers crossed and good vibes headed your direction!!

Stephen
