Is There a Right Way and a Wrong Way?

Getting back into the fold is not always easy as I have been finding out over the past 24 hours or so.

While the mind is willing the body sometimes falters and lets you down. So my quandry is do I go through all the training I have previously done again or do I wing it?

The answer is often down to how good your memory is, and at present I would say mine is not good to say the least. So in my case I need to go back through all the training so as I do things the right way.

What happens if I don't follow this path?

There is a very good chance that I will be wasting some of my time as I have very likely mis-remembered something.

We are all here to make money as we educate others in our chosen path. Surely we can only do this when we are sure of our facts.

I will be on the sidelines for a while as I get up to speed. I don't want to end up misinforming somebody or giving them a half fact.

I will of course chip in when I am sure of an answer, especially if it is something on which I am knowledgeable, or have personal experience of.

Try to remember we are here to help our colleagues but we only help when we give factual advice.

The right way is to only give advice when you are sure of your facts and you know your subject well. The wrong way is to give half cocked advice that you are not sure about.

Please make sure you are the one doing it the right way!

Hi Derek, I think your idea of revisiting the training before moving forward is good one. It probably won't take you as long to complete as the first time and it should get you back in high gear quickly... Hope all the best for you.
Ray

Thank you Ray.

Derek

You are right on point. Progress is made by helping each other out in positive ways.
Comments are made through research on one or more topics. The right way, is to make your own decision. When in doubt do your own research, and then question the validity of someones post or comment. It is the only way to offer valid comments.
All the best,
Michael

Than you for your comments Michael.

Hi Derek,

Great advice! It is always a good idea to recap from time to time, Sometimes we pick up things that we missed the first time around. Best of luck to you!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Thank you Nicola. It is always good to keep reminding yourself of the correct way of doing things.

Derek

You are welcome! Absolutely!

Full steam ahead!

It will be.

We all make mistakes every now and again. As long as it's not intentional it's all good. Sometimes we just don't understand things the way we should the first time around, but this wonderful community is always quick to help correct mistakes. No harm no foul ;-)

I agree Tony.

Great Advice Derek. You will probably find that you will pick up things from the training you missed the first time. Jim

I am sure I will Jim.

Took me 5 months, some take longer. Derek, take your time. I too forget some things. Luckily, we can always go back and rely on the trainings. Wrong advice usually happens when we are misinformed or made a rookie mistake. It happens. We learn from it. True, technology is going at a rapid pace and I cant keep up. That why I take my time to learn and make sure I understand first. I appreciate your post. Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome Brenda. We all have to learn, but we don't all learn at the same rate.

Derek

Some great advice, thank you Derek. I'm sure it won't take you long to get up to speed. More like a 'refresher course.'

True Twack. For me, it should be a refresher course.

Derek

Well said!

Thank you Alan.

It is my belief that it is never a bad thing to go through the training again. I did that with part of the OEC training, and found I picked up valuable little bits of information that I'd missed the first time around.

Unless you are one of those with a photographic memory, there is a great likelihood that you will need to go through the training several times.
