Put Christmas into words
I have a question to all who reads this blog. Can any of you put Christmas into words. If you are anything like me it is hard to put Christmas into words because we all see Christmas differently. Which is okay because we all feel differently about Christmas why because it means different things to each one of us. What is the true meaning of Christmas to all of you.
The true meaning of Christmas
What is the true meaning of Christmas Everybody truly forgets the real reason for Christmas. It is the time of rebirth, love, compassion, helping one another, and forgiving one another. This is the time to reflect on the closing of another year too.
It was once said in another post that there is too much pain in this world. And there is no one wants to help neighbors or even get involved with anything in the community.
People used to help one another
When I was growing up the neighbor help each other. There was a saying that it takes a village to raise a child. That saying is true to fact at one time the neighborhood used to take care of each other and helped one another. Also you were able to keep your doors unlocked but things slowly changed over the years.
I just don't know what happen the older generation started dying off and things started changing for the worse. The old ways that we grew up with are now non-existent. We had structured in our lives and disciple we were taught right from wrong and we were also taught to respect others.
People forgot the reason for the season
Society has just forgotten what Christmas is all about. Christmas has become to commercialize. It is about how much money we can spend for Christmas. People have literally gone into debt for Christmas by overspending. At one time children would make paper chains for the tree, and make gifts for their parents, and that meant more than the store bought gifts.
Society doesn't appreciate what they have more or less on what they get. People are in a total rush, and what I mean is driving fast, instant coffee, instant food, everything has to be right now. People in general doesn't want to wait for anything anymore.
Why can't we be like this all year round like we are at Christmas
We all forget about what it means during the year but come Christmas time people attitude changes. Why can't we be nice, patient, compassionate, shows love, and forgiveness, why can't we be this way 365 days a year instead of one month out of the year.
No instead we are nasty, not nice, rude, and anything else you could add to the list. We shouldn't be that way, we should be better than that. We have to remember what Christmas is all about and stop and think about it.
Christmas memories and traditions
We all have Christmas memories and traditions that we had as a child we need to share those with our children and grandchildren. We need to bring back those things and share them bring them back to life. And maybe our children and grandchildren will share them with others.
We should all have an old fashion Christmas that would be fun. Time to slow down and enjoy what is right in front of us. We have to bring back the old ways because this is the time that families come together and share those wonderful memories so that our children and grandchildren have something to hide in their hearts.
We have to get rid of the pain
This is a time to be happy and for most it isn't a happy time. For most it is a sad time because of the pain that each and every one us goes through. Christmas is to be celebrated but again for most it is jist another day. We all have something that we don't want to remember but that is not what our loved ones that we lost wants us to do.
Yes it is hard especially if we are alone but we don't have to be alone for the holidays. We can spend it with anyone or anybody that we choose to. It doesn't necessary have to be with biological family. It could be with close friends that is more of a family to us. Or you can start a new tradition by helping out by serving food to the homeless.
Conclusion
If there is someone you know that is alone please invite them to spend Christmas with you don't be alone. This is the time of year many people that are alone either attempt's suicide or succeed at suicide please don't let another person become another statistic.

Please if you know someone that is in need of help of any kind call 988 because you can save a life. We don't have to lose anyone else this holiday season.

I'm honestly a little worried right now. Life has set up for me to spend Christmas alone. I don't want to harm myself, but the question is why this Christmas is such a situation. It's a long story and I don't want to share it. I will be fine and the answer will be in my next post.

Same back Slavka - I too wish you a good night and sweet dreams. Tomorrow is a new day. Wake up refreshed and start your day with a strong black coffee. I always do and then watch the birds from my window. A Robin waits for me to give him a small piece of cheese. I love watching nature.

I understand about hearing a drill while you are trying to sleep. My suggestion is maybe get some ear plugs that way you can sleep and you won't hear a sound.

That's what my friend Ron does for all of us who are alone, Mary! He is a shining example of what Christmas is all about! That is a day of refuge as we celebrate Christ's birth and are among friends. For that day alone, all of our pain and heartaches should be pushed away!

Hi Mary. You are absolutely correct and right.
Everyone in the world should be caring, kind, compassionate, and loving, more towards their fellow man as well as the animals, plants, and the world. But most of us give in to our baser instincts of self-preservation and what is good for me.
So that can lead to (but does not have to) the nastiness that we see every day. It also leads to hunting species to extinction, or near extinction, not replenishing the soil we grow crops in so that it does not provide the nutrients we or the animals need, Strip mining for whatever we want, and leaving scars all over our beautiful Mother Earth.
Yes. There are actions taken by many that mitigate these horrors. There are thousands if not millions that care for the homeless, orphans, elderly, and the lost. There are many like Denise below that commit random acts of kindness. Some people lobby for laws to protect the animal and plant species of this world, and many are trying to replenish the soil and heal the scars we have inflicted on this beautiful planet. And for all of this, I am grateful. This proves that the creator is with us no matter if you refer to him/her as God or Yahweh. or Allah, Zeus, Odin, Gaea, or any other name. We are meant to rise above our basic instincts to become better than we are. People say to be better than animals, but animals are not necessarily cruel to be cruel unless something is wrong with them. Man can be cruel just to be cruel.
This is why we have to rise above ourselves. And why we need to make the effort to be caring, kind, compassionate, and loving. If we just go with the flow this is where we end up.

Hi JD, I am happy that you enjoyed my post. This what needed to be said to make us aware of what we are doing or not doing. This was a time when we all got along with each other. And all people do is tear each other down, argue with each other, and then if you don't like the way things are working then comes the mass shootings.
That is all we know now is to rid people before their time. Yes people are now generally cruel and it is just wrong and unfair. When we should be sharing new memories, being together, loving with each other, compassionate, helping the elderly, homeless, with food and somewhere that is warm.

Hi FashionDr, I remember Christmas as a child, making those paper chains, waking up at 5am so excited and finding a whizzer and chips annual at the end of my bed and a stocking full of chocolate to keep us occupied while my parents were still snoring, lol. 8am would arrive, and we were all stood at the top of the stairs eager to go down but could not until my father finished his morning cup of tea, which added to our frustration and, excitement. He would finally get up and very slowly walk downstairs as we all followed anxiously to see what Santa had left. We walked into the living room and found nothing, ( I`m only kidding, lol) It was like Santa`s grotto, presents everywhere food and treats laid out all over and you could feel the excitement. We would spend the day enjoying each others company and playing with toys, watching the wizard of oz or scrooge or chitty chitty bang bang. Oh happy days. I have no family of my own, so I spend the day with my parents and on boxing day the rest of the family come around with their children so its good to watch them enjoy the day. Always wished I`d had children but life doesn`t always pan out the way you want it too. I do have a wife but I need a puncture kit to fix her, Hehe. Ah well, at least I have something in life to be grateful for eh. Have a great Christmas and a happy new year and have a great day.
Hi Brian, That is awesome you have wonderful childhood memories to enjoy and reminisce with your wife, parents, siblings, and friends. You must be in the UK because you mention boxing day. That must be fun to trade places like that.
I watched the same movies but I have seen any of them as yet. But I have Scrooge, Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Like, and White Christmas on DVD. I just haven't had the time to watch them because I have been busy working on the computer to really enjoy them.
I might watch them I don't know. I just have a lot to do.

Yes I have dreams of what I want to do but right now I don't have the time. I have to put all my energy in building a business right now.

The holidays bring out the best in one way, especially for the little ones.
Since age Five, I was always wondering why people celebrated so much. What I wanted most was my brother, who passed away at age 22. So, no matter what present I received, it couldn't bring my buddy back.
I turned my sadness into making sure that I could comfort my brother 's two kids left behind. I know it was a lot for a five year old but this is how I learned compassion at an early age.
This is why I became a family therapist. This is why you are going to be a psychologist. We have been in the same space of pain.
We are able to bring our lived full circle by giving back to people that are hurting. We know what pain feels like.
However, we can survive and thrive through it all. It just takes time.
Btw, my mum had 12 kids so, I was number 11. I was, basically, the family pet but it was lots of fun. I got a lot of attention. Plus I was a daddy's girl.

Hi Rachele, Yes you are so right I do know pain lots of it. My whole childhood was full a pain. Which that was my mother's fault because she caused a lot of it. i am figuring my mental issues started because of the abuse that I went through. Yes I want to help others because of what I have been through.
But on the other side of the coin I want to make sure that the people that are killed has a voice and that the right person goes to prison for it.
Too many innocent people are sent to prison on a technically. I want to make sure that the person that committed the crime gets punished for it.
I was the only child, I did have a brother but he died, and i have a twin sister but I don't know where she is. But as I said I was raised by myself. I was not allowed to go anywhere or do anything that a normal child would be able to do. I was overly protected and I was smothered to death.
This is Christmas so you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy your family and your friends and relax my friend.
