The Name Explained, in an AI-Driven Future

As you already know my name, I sometimes wonder if my parents were quietly looking into the future when they chose it.

My name is Farid 😊
In Arabic, and especially in its Egyptian roots, it means the rare one, the unique. The one who doesn’t quite blend in. As you may have noticed already. Which explains my relationship with AI rather well.

While many people my age still approach AI with hesitation, confusion, or mild distrust, I treat it like a curious playground. Text, images, ideas, workflows, automation. If there’s an AI tool for it, I want to see what it can actually do and where it truly adds value.

Some people find that surprising. Others call it a bit freaky. I prefer to call it healthy curiosity with a sense of humor.

I didn’t grow up with AI. I grew up figuring things out the old-fashioned way. That might be exactly why I enjoy these new tools so much. I don’t worship technology, but I don’t fear it either. I poke it, test it, occasionally break it, and then use it to make life a little easier or more fun.

So yes, compared to my generation, I may stand out a bit.
But that’s fine.

After all, the name already warned you.

Farid.
Rare by name. Curious by nature.
Comfortably at home in an AI-driven future.

I love it and I like your sense of humor😁, perhaps prophetic, or you grew into the name. Either way you are who you are.
Like you, I find AI intriguing, most people my age run far away from AI. I embrace it, to me it is just another tool to be understood and used.
A very helpful tool, but still and always will be just a tool. No rocket science in this. ^_^ Just saying.
Nice work Farid, appreciated it. Cheers *_*

Thank you, I appreciate it. I see AI the same way, fascinating, practical, and ultimately just a tool to work with. Glad the humor came through. Cheers.

I totally agree. It's just like children need to be able to do maths problems in their head before they learn to use a calculator. The best calculator is no use if you don't know what to put into it.

And that's exactly the point Isabella, thanks for the logic reaction.

Well said, at first I was a little hesitant. But the more I have experimented, the more I have enjoyed the possibilities.

I can see it will be a great assistant and I look forward to indulging my own curiosity some more.

Thanks for sharing.

3

Thank you Elyta, curiosity has a way of growing once you start experimenting.

3

It certainly does.

We planned an oldfashioned walk for tomorrow, just the cameras, Monster and I having fun in the cold and therefor tourist-free area, Walking in the freezing air gives the brains fresh air so I guess I'll start writing again tomorrow 😊

Please excuse me butting in, Roamy.

I am going to echo Roamy here, Farid.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Enjoy your walk with Monster tomorrow. I will be thinking of you when I go with Lilly, my Chocolate Labrador. Going for a walk in the cold air does help thinking about things and getting things clear.

Lovely Echo JD 😁

You're welcome

Beautifully said, Farid. Your name, your mindset, and your approach to AI align perfectly. Curiosity without fear—and with humor—is a powerful way to move forward in an AI-driven world.

3

Thank you, Monica, I appreciate that.
Curiosity without fear and with a bit of humor really does make all the difference, especially as AI becomes part of everyday life.

Tools may change quickly, but mindset and curiosity still lead the way.
