Hi Marion!

The free tool seems to be really useful. But will the screenshots still look blurry if I don't capture it at the right resolution?

I read somewhere that if the uploaded images are not the "right" size for your blog theme, then it will appear blurry. Is this true?

Thanks for your help!

If you make the image bigger (enlarge) then it will become blurry (pixelated). Always use images the same size or slightly bigger than you are going to display on your website.

Thanks for the tip!

But I can't seem to find the free Jing software that you are talking about. Can you send me a link?

There's a link below the video I gave you

Hey there!
What are you using for making screenahots?
If you are using the print screen option on your keyboard you should consider a plugin for your browser.
If you already do this you should try another plugin.
Cheers!

Hi Philipp!

I'm using the snip tool provided by Windows. Is there a better way to do it?

Thanks!

Hi sorry for the late reply.
There are a lot of plugins for firefox and chrome. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the tool I am using and I am away from my pc for a while. Been using my phone since 2 weeks.
Cheers!

Hey WA folks!

I don't know if I should worry about submitting a sitemap at this point. My new website is only over a month old, so is it still too early for a sitemap?

You are correct...

The XML sitemap only makes it easier for Google to bot large sites, it quickens the indexing of your website.

Here is the kicker about indexing a website. You probably want to verify and index your site when you are perhaps 80% done depending on how many pages you have created and then deleted..

Deleting pages while being indexed result in 404 errors meaning that someone clicked on a link to a page on your website that was prematurely indexed and got a 404 error, page not found. Bam you lost a possible customer (maybe).

There is no Re-indexing feature with Google that I have seen. But there is a process whereby you can remove entries in your google index for pages that you had already deleted.

So this is key that you want your website running and running clean with no page missing errors.

There is actually no rush to verify and index early.. .it will create more back office work for you.

Hope this helps ..

Hi Billy

So even if I don't submit a sitemap now, my pages and posts will still get indexed and ranked in Google? I just thought that if I had Analytics and a sitemap with Google, it will help my site to have a much better "presence" with Google?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks a lot!

Yes the XML site maps are just like the google bots have a road map to follow and make it easier for them to do their work. With out one Google will crawl your site anyway and get it done, anyway.

BTW you can generate and submit a sitemap of your website using the All-in-One SEO plugin.

I've had seen someone complaining about 404 errors on his website because he had deleted pages from his website but they were still indexed, people were clicking on the links that could no longer be reached.

Hey WA folks!

My new website is only over a month old. Should I install Google Analytics right away? Or is it still too early?

How old should my website be, befor

Yes, I would install analytics as soon as possible.

Hello again....Start using analytics after your pages are indexed and you got the scope on that just comments ago.

Hi Billy

This might seem like a silly question, but how do I find out if my pages have been indexed?

Thanks a lot =)

No silly questions here... If you don't ask, you won't learn : ) I just got home from church and here I see you just asked the question about 30 mins ago...

Your page will not be indexed until you first verify your website and that is done via the Google webmaster tools.. the one called search console.

Once you've made an account there, you'll need to "add" your property.. It will give you a verification key (about 8 chars/numbers in a string) and some code you can add onto your website.

You will grab that label and enter it in your All-In-One SEO plugin.

Then go back to search console to verify. ..

then nose around on the left in the console after your site is verified and look for words like "fetch" "crawl" "fetch as google" and click it to see your site can be crawled. it will tell you that it started...

At that juncture the process has begun I think you'll just wait till the webiste dashboard says that Google has indexed you.

Now ... there are many ways to verify your website and i found using the SEO plugin is the easiest. Also, I understand the search console is New and therefore you won't find much about it n WA, in details. Perhaps, i will make a training video on that.

Hi Billy

It's weird because under sitemanager here at WA, it says that my website has already been indexed in Google. And this happened only a few hours after I created my website.

I did not even go to search console to verify my website. So what does this mean? Is my website already indexed or no?

Thanks again Billy!

That's probably true as well because search bots are merely software program searching the web for new websites. But can be that the bots have certain key patterns that will spot sites that may not be legit and therefore stop indexing and wait till owner validate is verified.

Think about it, what's preventing software to automatically create websites for the purpose of scamming old folks or even folks like us.. That is why the requirement to have a validation process, else if the world lost faith in the faith of the web, all would be lost.

Hi Jude!

Thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to remember them!

Not at all.

I use external links in almost all of my content as doing this is a metric that can actually increase your rankings.

Hi Jay!

I was worried because I thought that readers might get "lost" and end up browsing other pages on external websites. Then highly likely they won't come back to my page and click on my internal links.

Or maybe this is something that I don't have to worry about?

Thanks for your help =)
