Asking For Help? Read This First!
Hello good people of WA!
The community here is great in a sense that, anyone could ask any question related to on-line marketing, and you will have many experienced and knowledgeable people who will be willing to help.
However, I have noticed that there are many questions which are often confusing, or lacking details with regards to the topic at hand. In order for people here at WA to help you, enough information regarding the situation have to be provided. In other words, you need to give CONTEXT!
The following is a list of pointers you would want to understand, before asking a question:
- WHY? - You need to explain why you have done certain things, when asking for a solution to be given. It would help a lot if potential helpers understand your reason for taking various steps, before you encountered a problem. This will paint a clearer picture as people will know what you wanted to achieve in the first place.
- HOW? - When trying to explain the situation you are in, you need to further elaborate on it. Make sure you specifically identify all the steps you took, before arriving at the point where you are stuck at. This will give people enough information in order to figure out any possible mistakes you could have made before.
- WHAT? - This one is pretty straight forward. You need to accurately and specifically state the issue that you are facing. People need to know what error pages you are looking at, which section of your dashboard you are having problems with, or which function on SiteRubix that is not working etc. Again, be detailed.
- WHEN? - This piece of information can sometimes go a long way in finding an explanation for your problems. By roughly telling people the period of time where you experienced the issue (yesterday, two days ago....etc.), people can inform you of possible technical issues happening to any program, software or websites. For example, things like website maintenance, or program updates can sometimes mess things up.
There you go. A few pointers that I think will be very beneficial, when incorporated into your requests for assistance. What do you guys think? Am I missing anything else here?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
Cheers =)

Yes! Very useful. Sometimes I feel like I'm elaborating too much. I know everyone is busy.
I think I'm worse than stuck. I have tried 3 times to add pages to my website. They all go in as my landing page. If I add another page the first one disappears and the new one becomes my landing page. I can not figure out how to make menu tabs across the top. I'm using Omega (theme) just like Kyle did. After I add a page and publish it I don't have the option to add another on my screen like it is on Kyles.
Someone please help!

This is the message I put at the bottom of the lesson page. Course 2 lesson 2. For the last 3 hrs. I've been going into Site Rubix Site Manager and trying to add menu categories and create new pages. Every time I name a page and publish it goes to my Landing page like content instead of making menu categories. I'm about to go back to Course 1 to see how I did my Privacy Policy and About Me page. I don't know what else to do.
Thank you,
CathyJo
Hey Cathy!
The lessons in the certification courses give enough information about the things that you are asking about. My guess is that you may have missed something out.
I have a completely different theme than Kyle's, but am still able to implement his methods.
Cheers =)
Thank you for your answer! I have gone back in the lessons and found where I was missing a step. Have a glorious day!

Good advice. Getting the question right will help you get the right answer. However, this may take time to articulate! Thank goodness WA community is so helpful and patient. Have a great Sunday. Best, Maggie
Hey Maggie!
Yeah this community is awesome indeed. Thanks for dropping by. Have an awesome week!
Yes I agree with you. I a focus question will be easy to help. But many member that are new ask a broad question. Its not easy to answer broad answer question.
Hey Jude!
Thanks for taking the time to read. It was a pleasure to share this information.
Cheers =)
