Google Site Kit Plugin? I Will Pass for Now

So Big Brother (Google) has a new shiny object out for our holiday enjoyment. An early Christmas present for all of us for putting up with Google's antics another year.
Hooray.
Thanks, but no thanks Google. I will not be leaving any milk and cookies out for your version of Santa Claus before I have even eaten my deep-fried turkey for Thanksgiving.
Is anyone here at WA using or plan on using this new shiny object right out of the box?
This is Google's first official Word Press plugin designed to show us how people find our sites and use them.
Site Kit is supposed to be our one-stop solution to deploy, manage, and get insights from critical Google tools to make our websites successful on the web. It provides authoritative, up-to-date insights from multiple Google products directly on the WordPress dashboard for easy access, all for free.

Site Kit shows key metrics and insights from different Google products:
- Search Console: Understand how Google Search discovers and displays your pages in Google Search. Track how many people saw your site in Search results, and what query they used to search for your site.
- Analytics: Explore how users navigate your site and track goals you’ve set up for your users to complete.
- AdSense: Keep track of how much your site is earning you.
- PageSpeed Insights: See how your pages perform compared to other real-world sites. Improve performance with actionable tips from PageSpeed Insights.
- Tag Manager: Use Site Kit to easily set up Tag Manager- no code editing required. Then, manage your tags in Tag Manager.
- Optimize: Use Site Kit to easily set up Optimize- no code editing required. Then, set up A/B test in Optimize.
This all sounds great but I am sure it will have many problems initially. In fact, I will promise it will.
I think I will wait a few months for them to iron out all the bugs. I have enough shiny objects in my life and on my Christmas tree.
Beware of shiny objects even at Christmas time is a good mantra.
So far there are equal numbers of 4 and 5 star reviews versus 1-3 star reviews. That tells me all I need to know. I will pass on any early Christmas present from Big Brother. I am not going to be a guinea pig for Google or anyone else.
I am heading for New Orleans and Florida for Thanksgiving with Ukrainian friends, so will not be seeing you guys and gals from Tuesday until December 6th. This guy is going to enjoy a little vacation before the rush of New Year's resolutionists to my new online Personal Training/ Nutrition website.
I fully intend to gain 10+ pounds while I am gone just to show my new clients how easy it is to lose 20 pounds following my workout and nutritional advice. Works every year.

How to gain 10 pounds in The Big Easy? Easy. Start with breakfast at Mothers, followed by muffulettas, beignets, red beans and rice, gumbo, shrimp po-boys, jambalaya, some swimming in butter French food, pralines and cream, bananas Foster and some king cake for desert. That should do it.
Oh, I forgot Hurricanes and dark Dos Equus' to wash it all down.

Hi Mark,
I have deployed it on a few of my sites and love it!
Since they are already gathering that information via my Google Analytics and Search Console, I find no reason to be concerned.
I find it as a wonderful way to quickly look at insights for any new post so I can see what sort of traction I get in terms of traffic and keywords.

Thanks so much for chiming in Jay with the expert opinion I was looking for. Being wary of anything new and shiny is taught here and that is why I wrote the blog. It just sounded great and wondered why I had not heard it mentioned on the platform

You are more than invited. Seems I have been elected to be the tour guide for 9 Ukrainian girlfriends of my Ukrainian girl friend who all live in Destin. None of them have been to NOLA and I stay in the same room at La Pavilion every time I visit.
I am on a first name basis everywhere there and have never lived there. I don't know if that is good or bad. Who cares?
NOLA and Florida with Ukrainians for 2 weeks will guarantee I am charged up for a 5-figure January.

I plan on doing a lot of watching. I will have 18 eyes on me and you can bet my gal will find out anything I do wrong. Ukrainian girls are very protective and resourceful.

Is there a reason you're avoiding Site Kit for now or you're just relying on a "shiny-object" judgment rule?
I think it's a decent plugin which is ideal to have if you hate logging in your search console, Adsense, and analytics separately. It sums up info from all these services and shows them in a simple way right within your website.
However, PageSpeed Insights and Optimize features are really useful I think.
Other than that, I don't think why people don't trust Google and their plugin - yet I'm pretty sure everyone's added their sitemap to Google search console already.
The plugin has been around for quite some time now, and I don't think it is in the beta stage anymore, right?
I hope it works well. It sounds great. It only has 70k users and very mixed reviews. More 1,2, and 3 star reviews than 4 and 5 star reviews. I am always leery of anything new on the internet. I would have thought it would have been mentioned by someone on the forum before now.
Yesterday was first day I had heard of Site Kit.
I rarely root for Google but I would love for it to work out for the best. Having all that on our WordPress dashboard would be very cool.

No, I probably won't check that one out until after the first of the year. I saw Jay's response, which is good news.
As for The Big Easy, heck ya! Best place in the world to gain some poundage..haha.. I spent a summer there with the family back in '95. I think we all gained 10 lbs without a problem. Terribly hot there in August though.
