It's Just a Matter of Showing Up for Work

Isn't it funny how many people want to work from home, but just can't seem to get started? Do you know what the number one reason is that people fail at working from home? They don't show up. Don't let yourself become a statistic. It's just a matter of showing up for work.

No, I don't mean you should go to your job and do nothing all day or that it doesn't matter if you show up at all--I mean the only thing that separates people who are successful from those who aren't is simply doing what they say they're going to do when they say they'll do it.

When you show up for work, you do the tasks that you need to do. You complete them one at a time and then move on to the next task when it's finished. The same goes for your blog post content. If you want to create posts with high engagement rates, just show up for work! We all know that working from home can be a dream come true for some people. For others, it's the worst thing ever and they do everything they can to resist it.

You may ask me, "What do you mean?" Well, we all have those days when we're not feeling it and we don't want to show up at the office or open our computer and start working on that project that has been sitting around for weeks. I'm telling you: it's ok to feel like this occasionally, but what really matters is how often you show up with your best effort.

I've always been a fan of the "show up" approach to work. I believe that it's important for entrepreneurs to just show up, even if they don't feel like it, because life is unpredictable and you never know when something amazing will happen. It's this kind of attitude that has allowed me to build my website from an idea into what it is today.

I'm not sure if you've ever had that feeling, but it's like this overwhelming sense of dread. You know there is work to be done and you know it's due today, but the thought of doing it is too much to handle. The hours go by and nothing gets accomplished because instead of working on your task list, you're scrolling through social media.

The next day rolls around and suddenly the panic sets in-all of those tasks are still sitting there waiting for you! It's just a matter of showing up for work, making progress every day no matter how small the steps may seem at first. But what if I told you that the secret to success is simply showing up for work.

Fantastic Advice Eugene. I must admit that sometimes I forget to show up. But at my age, sometimes I forget where I am. All the best. Jim

Thanks Jim

I worked out of my home for 17 yeqrs and I learned early on to establish boundaries with famiiy & friends. It wasn't always pleasant but it is the only way it works. Once you start to make money it becomes easier to enforce those. By the way, it took me 5.5 years to go from the Red Ink to Black Ink.

Edward

Thanks Ed

... uhm -- 5.5. years to take root ... did you also know that it takes about 5 years of growth for a fruit tree 🌴🌴 to take root and to bear fruit? ... same with us as it is for nature as we are nature! ... just a few may have forgotten ...

thanks kindly for the wonderful share ... all the best ... :))

Hey Eugene,

I like it.

This is something I have alluded to myself.

We live in an age where the vast majority of people make their day harder before it's even really started.

Do you know what I mean by this?

By this I mean that most people reach for their phone first thing in the morning.

WRONG.

You're allowing your mind to become "corrupted" before you've even done anything.

I've always been an early riser, and regardless of whether someone labels themselves a "morning person" or a "night owl", we are all at our most creative before we've allowed the stresses of the day to sink in.

I have a morning routine as soon as I rise from bed (usually two hours before anyone else).

I mediate and journal for approximately 10 minutes each.

I then set a timer for 20 minutes and start work.

Those 20 minutes are typically as productive as an hour later in the day.

My mind is alert and creative and I simply "go for it".

More often than not, that 20 minutes becomes 30, 40, or even an hour.

By the time everyone else is getting out of bed I am either almost completed, or indeed finished, on my article for the day.

It's only then that I may browse the news, social media, the Wealthy Affiliate platform.

All of these things can influence one's mood.

So, my advice, DO NOT reach for your phone first thing in the morning.

As Brian Tracy's fantastic book alludes to, "Eat That Frog". Get your biggest task for the day, started and completed before the "rot" settles in.

Partha

Partha, thanks for your comments. It's a blessing for me for you to come to visit. You're absolutely right, if we want this thing called online business, we need to show up for work. We need to do things early and at the same time finish the job that we were meant to do for that day. Success will not be served to us on a silver platter, we have to go and get it!

Wow Partha
I didn't have you as a Brian Tracy's person 😳

What's your memory like Simone?

Tut tut.

Remember I said I read EVERYTHING, from novels to self help to biographies to romance to chick lit to peppa pig.

It ALL helps with creativity.

Oh yes!
Please accept my apology.
I did forget :)

Sometimes the frog fights back. Lol.

🤔🤔 You haven't read MY books, PP! 😂😂

LJoB

LJOB,

After my EXODUS, I went a WANDERING, and formed a solid ALLIANCE as the ACCIDENTAL AMBASSADOR!!

I read EVERYTHING, Hahaha.

PP

Haha! Thanks, PP!

Eugene, I will go as far and say that sometimes it is best to get yourself in the entire spirit of starting in your work wear
It is work after all, get yourself in the frame of mind
Have a start and finish times and importantly the time that you take your break
It is more important to be disciplined than motivated to achieve the success we all desire

Simone, it's like you know what you say at the right time, "It is more important to be disciplined than motivated to achieve the success we all desire". Amen to that!

Amen :)

Yes sir Eugene you're right in your post, if we don't follow what task to be done in the training nothing happened to us, doing all the task in the training seriously and religiously is a big help for our success in WA.

Thanks Isabelo
