About 7 months ago I was very close to getting started with AWOL Academy. AWOL Academy (or Project AWOL) is an affiliate marketing training platform whose ads were circulating around my Facebook feed when I was first gaining interest in building an online business. I am glad that I came across your post! I actually have been debating the past couple days on which platform to go through. I do agree that both companies are beneficial and provide thorough training, however AWOL is just too pricey. Since I am new, a question I have is if WA uses landing pages or auto responder? I did realize that AWOL has their trainees pay for a lot of extra stuff monthly, in addition for paying for ads. Does WA simply use google searches to gain traffic or does WA also train on utilizing social media, solo ads, and being affiliates of big companies? Thanks so much!
Great questions. Where Wealthy Affiliate stood out for me besides being a million times more affordable was that the training here actually trains you how to build your business the right way first instead of plugging you into an automated system with claims that it'll do everything for you. It absolutely covers everything from building your site, to content creation, keyword research, how to consistently grow traffic, how to use social media platforms to grow the biggest audience, how to scale pay per click campaigns, and how to use all the tools you mentioned like landing pages, autoresponders, etc. so you can be the most efficient with your business.
Where so many people mess up is in skipping the steps to learn why these tools work with your audience. This training truly teaches you how to master them by giving you the foundation first. You really do get everything from this community and it's a great one stop shop.

I actually found Wealthy Affiliate while I was researching AWOL Academy online after sitting through their webinar. It sounded too good to be true.
I found a review Kyle had done on his website. He wasn't really negative, but he did say to check out WA, so I did and here I am. I'm so happy I found WA instead of signing up for AWOL. It not only offers great training, but the community is awesome! :-)
There are so many Wealthy Affiliate success stories who got here after learning from AWOL Academy reviews that their price tag was just too high. You really can't beat the training and mentorship here!

A great read Eric. You certainly have writing talent and you covered all of the major points. After reading this article it confirmed to me that my current problems are not related to Wealthy Affiliate or my niche. It's my environment and lifestyle. I need to correct the situation and get selfish (too many interruptions from friends). My friends do not understand the creative process and the need for "alone time". $10,000 to receive all of this AWOL Academy's training? Sorry, but unless I had the greatest online business teacher in the world working with me each day and who was connected with AWOL Academy, that price is just completely out of line. And to be quite honest, a scam since as you describe it, Eric there are lots of upsells that come as a part of that 5-figure price!
You could not have stated it better, Eric when you compare AWOL to Wealthy Affiliate. For what a premium level member could receive here at WA considering all of the training, tools and community support, the price cannot be match ANYWHERE ELSE.
Btw, talking about site security, does AWOL offer https:// secure layer encryption regarding their websites, as is available here at WA? For a part of that $10,000 price tag I should hope so!

bought the initial $99 program and then found out they wanted
10K for the entire training program...To me that seems a little insane. I did a quick search on reviews of AWOL...although alot of reviews weren't bad, I noticed a responder mentioning WA, so i looked into it and here i am ha.

I too was looking at AWOL. Close to signing up there was something tugging at me - the cost and the cost and the cost. I looked into reviews and came across WA. Did some research and here i am. I am grateful for this platform and very grateful to not be emptying my wallet in the process of learning, building and earning.

I've been here for less than a week but I can confirm it to anyone I know that Wealthy Affiliate is the right place to get all the training we need to be successful in affiliate marketing. I purchased AWOL pro academy for $99 and the price for Elite program is 10k . I feel at home here with Wealthy Affiliate. I hope I will be able to get the training for internet marketing in here. Do I need clickmagik, leadpages and hostgator for wealthy affiliate? Thanks in advance
The great thing about WA is it is truly a one stop shop with hosting and support already included along with great tools here for keyword research and more. As you continue through the training, Kyle explains different tools along the way that can help you here and there, and as you grow more advanced with this program you may jump into click funnels and lead pages, but you’re going to be given a good number of options so you can decide which is the best fit for you instead of just being pre-sold. You won’t have to worry about making any purchases like that just yet, so continue on with this great training and take full advantage of he mentorship of this awesome community:)
I purchased the AWOL Pro Academy too for $99 - but the price of the Elite has gone UP to $17,997 - if you purchase within 10 days of joining pro it is "discounted" to $14,997 - glad I found WA!
You don't need hostgator because WA hosting is great - I like having leadpages and clickmagick and also an autoresponder - although I use Aweber for that.
