Am I ever glad you asked this question. I just Google searched "what causes direct traffic of 34 visitors at 100% bounce rate" (without the quotation marks, of course) and am amazed at some of the posts in the search results... especially those in my screen print below...
You might want to run the same search, read through a few of these and see what can be done. Am off to read them myself...

Whenever I see that instant bounce rate in my stats, I assume it's usually a bot. It will be interesting to see if it happens again.

Hi Eric - it's referral spam. In my experience I get it now & then. Sometimes it can be relentless and there are things you can do to remove it in that case from your analytics. Really, it's just an irritant because it messes up your Google analytics and it can seem like you're getting a lot more visitors. I had that recently when I had a lot more visitors than usual - and it was down to a sudden spike in this referral spam traffic!

PressCable are doing a major campaign to gain new members, claim that if you put out enough press releases using the proper structure they will start doing great for local business owner's sites.
You could Google search to find out more about them, using titles like: "techniques for instant press release success" (without the quotation marks, of course) or "how to write a press release" or "press release practices that will skyrocket your PR" ... and read through the many very helpful content shared by other.
