Autumn Start Date!
Well I don't know what the weather is like where you are but here in Fort Worth, Texas today is the first day of Autumn or as I like to say Fall.
I just got through reading Fleeky's wonderful post about Fall and commenting. It got me to thinking about the so I thought I would jot this down real quick!!
What Does "Fall" Mean
I have lived in a few states during my life so I have had been blessed to experience Fall in many different ways. Here in Texas there isn't that much difference between the seasons of the year.
According to the dictionary Fall is the third season of the year which last from September-November in the northern hemisphere. But in the southern hemisphere it's from March-May. (I have just learned something new myself). This is when the fruits are gathered and the leaves begin to fall.(that is where the name fall comes from).
Back to my weather report, here it has been raining most of the day today.
Survey Question
What has been your experience of the Autumn season ? In other words, When you hear the word Fall or Autumn, what kind of weather do you think of?
I will go first so maybe that will help you understand where my brain is going.
1) When I lived in Arkansas the leaves would change to ALL the marvelous colors. We had of course green leaves but we also had red leaves, brown leaves, orange leaves, and yellow leaves.

The changing seasons are something to behold, for sure the colors are so vibrant as some trees prepare to shut down for a while. It is the time to start thinking about planting trees, after the summer heat.

Fall, Autumn here in Massachusetts is beautiful. All the different colored leaves. Browns, bright reds, yellow's
oranges, People come from all over to see the different colors. There are lots of mountains that are beautiful. They would make any photographer or painter very rich. Fall official starts tomorrow (Saturday September 22,)

I love the mountains also with the beautiful trees!! I used to live in a small town in the Ozark Mountains. I loved it there too!!!

Being a native North Carolinian, when I hear the term "Autumn/Fall", I think of making a trip to the North Carolina mountains to see the colors of the leave, hitting one of the trails with one of my cameras! That's what hearing the words autumn/falls gets me thinking about.

I came here a few days to fall last year and I being very new did not notice about the leaves but come winter i noticed that trees did not have leaves then spring trees had leaves so i have to observe fall now

Yes, to me fall is all the beautiful colors is the trees. But now that I am older, fall also means to me that cold weather will soon be upon. My arthritis is not fond of cold weather. LOL

I don't like spring or fall,as you have to wear a jacket in the morning, you might not have to in the afternoon, and then you might have to wear one in the evening. I would rather have to wear or not have to wear a jacket all day.
