Notice That Site Content Stats Stop If You Create Posts Directly In WordPress!

Do you like the stats Site Content provides you on all the posts you create and publish? As well as the posts you create and don't publish?

What about the spellcheck and grammar check that Site Content provides you?

I started writing my content directly within WordPress because I liked the editing features that the block editor provides. Such as the ability to change font sizes. Having the choice to add color to your script. And the build in table creating tool. However, you do loose the benefits of Site Content that I stated above.

Have you noticed these differences too? What do you think about them?

The Trade Off

I like this trade off. It takes me less time to write content. When I type in a word spelled wrong, the script turns red. It doesn't show me the correct spelling and I have to figure that out myself. Being able to do that on the fly, rather than when I activate the spellchecker in Site Content does indeed save time. And I can always use Google to find the correct spelling.

The table creation function is also a great plus.

Do I find this trade off acceptable? I do. In fact, more than acceptable. I love it.

What about you?

Cheers.

Edwin

Hi Edwin,
I use Grammarly for creating posts in anything. I am such a horrible speller that it would take probably several days to compose a post without it.

But I agree that it is faster to create in WordPress than use the cumbersome Site Content spell, checker.

However, Site Content does have its plusses also.

Bill

Me too, Bill.

Thanks for commenting. I got so comfortable writing in Site Content it took me a while to wean away.

Cheers.

Hi Edwin
I only ever published one post through site content. I think site content is arguably, useful for complete beginners. It helps them get started relatively fast... but at some point we all need to find our way through the forest of Wordpress anyway.

When I started I found myself with much more time on iPhone than pc (this is still the case). It's not ideal for writing, especially within WP... so I focused on writing productivity first.

I created a ‘writing process’ using Notion.os on phone and pc to make research and writing as easy as I could.

Hi Richard,

We do what we have to do. It is the end result that matters, not so much how we get there. Thanks for your informative comment.

Cheers.

Edwin

Agreed.

I suppose so, Edwin! You make some good points here!

Jeff

Glad you think so Jeff.

Cheers.

Enjoy your Frisatsu (weekend), Edwin!

Yes can't see the post, but you still get stats in site manager, but I get you Edi. You can actually see when your content is indexed.
Yes, site content is water down from the block/
I don't know Edward, but Kyle had asked our opinion on site content and said they were working on it. I guess they're still doing so.

Hello Earl,

I had forgotten about Kyle's earlier request for comments. I imagine WA is working on improving many aspects of this platform and Site Content may be one of the areas set for change.

Thanks for commenting.

Yeah Edwin spot on. I always use to write to WP. Then due to the stat feature I switched to Site Content but have found it really is a watered down version of the block editor. I therefore find myself leaning more back to the WP blocks to do most of my posts. I really like the side panel with all the features that pops up as well.

Hello Hugh,

It's the end result that counts no matter how you get there regarding creating content.

I got so comfortable with Site Content and only recently made the break to writing within WordPress.

Thanks for commenting.

Edwin

So true. Good seeing you Edwin.
