Hi guys thanks for leaving comments. Dreamer56 was onto something, seems like it was one of the plugin updates messed up the comment function.
I disabled all plugins and enabled one by one and found that the plugin Autoptimize was the one causing it. Deleting it makes the comment function works again.
Could be this the issue to do about your theme,

I came across this Wealthy Affiliate website hosting page but I'm not sure how to create an affiliate link that directs my referrals to this page:
For any page which doesn't show your affiliate link you can copy the URL from the address bar and then add your affiliate link to the end. My link to that page is http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/a_aid/100b117d you can swap my affiliate link (/a_aid/100b117d) with yours.

After much searching and testing, the plugin I found that Google seemed happiest with is Yet Another Stars Rating by Dario Curvino.
Hope you find this helpful.
