Monthly visitors improved from 627 to 5,951!
It's time for monthly update again. This month I've seen pretty encouraging increment in Google's organic traffic to my website, mastermyfinance.com. It's close to a 10-fold increase!
Let's compare it to the goals I've set last month:
Goals for Jan 2016:
- Reach 110 posts (last update = 85 posts)
- Failed. Current: 105 posts (+30 from last month). I fall short of my target because I took few days off during Christmas to celebrate with my family.
- Target by next update: 140 posts.
- At least 300 daily visitors to site
- Success. Current daily record: 604 visitors.
- Target by next update: 800 daily visitors.
- 10,000 monthly visitors (last update = 627 monthly visitors)
- Failed. Current: 5,951 monthly visitors (+5,324 from last month)
- Target by next update: 10,000 monthly visitors. I'll keep the same goal considering I only reach 59.5% of my goal this month
- Improve average ranking to 25.0 (last update = 39.9)
- Success. Current average ranking: 17.0 (+22.9 from last month)
- Target by next update: 10.0 average ranking.
- CTR saw a minor improvement from 7.47% to 7.6% (+0.13%). I expect to see better CTR as my site's overall ranking improves. Higher ranking means better visibility, and better click through rate.
Obviously, my next course of action will be to write more posts consistently and to create content that genuinely help people.
Apart from that, I want to focus a bit more on back-linking this coming month. Proper back-linking is an important part of off-page SEO, and it's one of the main factors that decide Google ranking.
I haven't been working on back-links all this while, so I'm interested to see how it will impact my site.
For those who are struggling to bring visitors to your site, stick to the training in WA and add genuinely helpful posts to your website consistently. Interact with your readers and help them with their problems.
I did not see much organic traffic at all for the first few months, but for the past 2 months I have seen substantial growth because some of my keywords hit top 5 in Google search results. They are not even ranked number 1!
Over time, when Google has recognized your site's value and authority, the rest of your keywords will get ranked higher and you will see even more traffic. I'm already seeing improvement in ranks for most of my keywords over the months.
This is a tried and true method. You only have to believe in it and work on it consistently. Don't worry if you're not generating any revenue yet, just focus on learning new things and making your website better.
Make your goals actionable - like writing 3 posts per week, reviewing your site's navigation each Sunday and making it more user-friendly, exchanging 1 site comment per day using WA platform, and getting 1 feedback per day, again, using WA platform. You can get a lot done here.
Once you've taken care of the important things, revenue will follow.
