Sorry to hear of your fustration. Remeber dont put in any monetising links straight away. Wait a few days. Just concentrate on giving good content...which means information people want to read/are looking for. Keep us updated.

I think that the real problem is that there have been so many spammers out there that the likes of Google and Squidoo, also Scribd and Ezine are inclined to set very tight guidelines. the problem with this and I speak as an internal auditor with 30+ years experience is that new people do make mistakes and cutting off an arm (metaphorically speaking) is not going to help them improve. I just wish that these people would get it into their heads that everyone deserves a fair chance and that just maybe it was a mistake or lack of real understanding and not intentionally malicious!

I find that 90% plus of people are trying their hardest to do it right, and treating them as if they were would be really nice.

Personally i hate Squidoo, ain't been there for years now. So i am not sure about your problem. But, most sites now are being extra careful with content on their sites. Google has really shaken up the internet on their last algo change. It has everyone in a panic and frustration.

Article sites i use the most often, and they do not publish straight away. So i go off and do something else while i wait for them to index the article in their directory. Once that is done, i then backlink it with social bookmarks, mainly.

What i am really trying to say is, patience is a virtue. Go on to something else, while waiting. Or you'll go mental and become unmotivated. Also, one extra hint, do not backlink or anything until the article or such is indexed in the directory. Trust me, it hurts.

Take your work from SQ and publish it at iSnare. Use one of the two links to link back to your SQ lens. The other to your offer. I like to use paid distribution. iSnare will take a couple of weeks before aproval but you will get a bunch of backlinks out of it and your content will also be published on Goarticles, and a few other top directories. The trick here is to keep moving forward and keep things in the pipe. You will reach a critical mass and start getting traffic, eventually the search traffic will take over.

It is the problem when somebody else owns the site. We are at the mercy of their internal controls. I personally love Squidoo, but there are people who just hate it. I did notice the last lens I did last week took almost 3 days to get checked off and it was pretty non-controversial. I'm thinking maybe they are slowing down because of the Google Farmer issue and maybe being really cautious with content. I used to get in the directory within a day; now a little longer. People like Squidoo because it's Web 2.0 and gives some great links. But if it doesn't approve your articles, then it's not worth the time.

You are not wasting time. You are learning new skills that take time. Be patient. Satisfy the article submission sites guide lines. Satisfy google. Adress your reader's needs in your article. Satisfy your personal criteria for writing the article. Figure out how to get the thing on a web page. Find peace, you're doing very well. These things are big hurdles and you can take pride in having the strenghth to learn them and apply them.

You're Phildeez, it did feel better once I wrote about it. I was just so ticked it took me a while to finally blog! I'm working on my SA article as we speak so I hope to have it submitted shortly. I don't get it some people are crazy about Squidoo, I really like the setup, but if it will take that long for my article to show up, it's not worth my time.

Yes, one of the most frustrating parts of this business is the stuff over which you have no control, such as Squidoo and other antics. You'll move through it and then feel better. I'm not crazy about Squidoo either. Through trial and error, you find the resources that are right for you.

Doesn't it feel good to blog about it and blow off some steam :) I personally love squidoo, but I can relate to your frustration with having to wait so long for your article to be in the directory. There are so many different directories out there just keep trying them out and you will certainly find one that fits your game plan! As always best of luck.
