Voting Day for Toronto Mayor...Strategically
Today is an extremely important day here in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
Why?
Well Toronto has had some troubling times with the current representative of our great city.
I have never been so insulted, embarrassed and discriminated against by a representative of my city. A city that I believed had citizens that wanted to be accepting of the realities of the differences in people and in life itself. How wrong was I...
So today I am voting, Voting is the only way I can try to remove the current representative.
But what saddens me is that I am literally voting to just get rid of someone from office so bad I will vote only because of strategy. The remaining contenders are not much either but that seems to be how politics works.
All I know is is this...If the people of Toronto vote the brother of the current Mayor of Toronto in I know it really is time to leave the city I have grown up in...
I will not live in a city that has a Mayor that refuses to participate in all the events of the people of this city. It is the Mayors job to participate, promote and create a city that encompasses all people, to build bridges and to represent me.
Voting...yes they say its important but the vote has lost it true power. The candidates are limited, they usually are those that have amassed wealth, are in big business and have no idea what the real people live like. So in essence people are voting for those that have wealth. I'm not against wealth, personally I love wealth but I want people that know what it means to be working so hard for $11 and have to pay for everything and no matter how hard they try can never save or have never had a vacation.
Voting yes I did vote. But will it make a difference? I only hope that it does.
The city of Toronto needs a change...
Well I feel better now I said my piece of such a upsetting topic and a very personal topic for me....I am so tired of being insulted...I'm crossing my fingers and toes....
Later tonight I will either be very relieved or extremely sad...

I agree with you. Lets hope they don't vote in Rob Ford's brother. I used to live in Toronto and even though I don't live there now, he is an embarrassment to Toronto. It is definitely good to vote but when you think about your vote not counting for much, it really is hard. I live in Millbrook Ont and we are voting for a new Mayor. Our Deputy Mayor is running for Mayor and I hope he wins. He is much better for the job.
I guess that we will have to wait and see who Toronto votes in..

I sure can relate. I'm embarrassed for what the USA has turned into over the years and especially now. You can delete this comment if you wish because half the country is fine with it, but there are many even in his own party who do not want to be seen with our president. There are too many scandals to count, healthcare costs are skyrocketing, the IRS is crooked, he won't work with your country concerning the pipeline,(think of what could have been done in the last 6 years) there are cover ups galore, only to mention a few.
We have mid term elections next week. Whoever you support, get out and vote.

Hey comments and opinions are great and we all have them as long as we are not nasty. I understand your comment, what is so sad is that most of our government at whatever level is downright pathetic. We can only keep trying......
I forget his name, but hasn't he been all over the news for explicit activity. If that is who I am thinking of, his is certainly an insult and a joke and should be removed.
Yes it is who you think, Rob Ford...unfortunately his brother is running for mayor...and yes it has been a joke....

I couldn't believe that Rob's brother was running. To me, its the same as voting for Rob. Good points about understanding people working for $11 an hour, and no privileges that the rich get.
