The Making Of A Profitable Affiliate VII - Meh Days
Have you ever woken up and immediately thought "Yup, this is going to be a 'meh' day?" A day where enthusiasm has stayed in bed, where energy hasn't woken up and that feeling of 'I really just can't be bothered' raises its bu77 - ugly head?
Yeah, me too.
I had one this Monday - what a great way to start the week! So, I actually did something proactive. I got up, shut down my computer completely, picked up my phone and set off for a walk.
Crikey! When was the last time I took a walk that didn't involve the aisles of my local supermarket? After a battle between me and muscles that hadn't done a jot of work in a while, I eventually started to stride.
Now, I'm not one for coming over all poetic but there is something about out-of-town and away from people that is just sooo uplifting. The air is better, the views are awesome and the sounds are incredible.
My eyes actually went above the horizontal and looked up in Gawd alone knows how many days. I was in some sort of verticality-zone and I was scanning objects from their base to their crown - trees, hills, buildings, signposts, I couldn't and didn't want to stop.
I think I was gone for about an hour - no stress, no strain and no sweat - just a complete unwind and unplug. It was a bit like a moving massage - everything just melted away and I returned abolutely shattered - LOL
After I'd showered and changed I got out a truly trashy fiction novel, you know the type - so bad they're slmost good and spent another happy hour in a world filled with fast cars, fist and gunfights and unreal ladies. I so want to be like Jack Reacher -ha!
I finally opened up the computer just after lunch and felt suitably energised - so, my advice to anyone who's feeling 'meh' is get away, get out and get almost lost in a completely different world.

Most Monday mornings I wake up and think to myself that this will be yet another 'meh' day Dom!
I'm not sure why, but Monday's have always affected me this way!
But a brisk walk in the countryside (if such a thing is possible living in a city) or down by the river where there is normally some vegetation and greenery on show is a fantastic way to clear one's mind!
The day always seems to run more smoothly afterwards!

Scrap Mondays as a work day then Nick - this covid-era plus lock downs has thrown everyone's 'working week' out of the window.

That's a fantastic idea Dom, and although this covid-era and various lock downs have screwed with the working week as we knew it, Monday working will unfortunately have to stay in my plans for the foreseeable future!!
There's nothing as soul satisfying as a brisk walk in the countryside. This was something I was unable to do for a long while. I went for a walk with my great granddaughter last week and came back feeling fantastic. Jim

I like that advice, I like that it's ok not to always use every spare minute doing something efficient and not feeling guilty for leaving “the to do list” alone.
Just one thing, I love love Lee Childs Jack Reacher novels, I beg to differ they are NOT trashy, its pure escapism and very necessary... 💕👍
If I could vote this comment up Cordelia, I would. JR is easily the best character in the thriller genre.
