Niche Site Ranking Update

Just a quick one today. A brief update on the Niche Site and its status
Well, I am flubbergusseted to be honest! Having done my posting to my G+ account (an account that is in no circles/ no community) and having done Fetch As Google - I'm #1!
Yes, you read that right - my QSR puts one of my posts at #1 position ! I've just checked Jaxxy to see how many people I can expect to come pouring through my website for the keyword phrase I rank for and....
It's.....
Wait for it....
Less than 10 :-(
Bwha - ha - ha - ha!
Yup, all that work for possibly no visits.
But, wait, that wasn't the point of this series - the point was, to get ranked! Yay me! I won!
So, having said all that, here is my 13 point plan to getting a post ranked in Google.
- Choose your niche
- Research your keywords
- Buy your domain
- Configure your SEO plugin of choice
- Alter/change your theme if desired/required
- Undertake visual branding (LOgo, custom header image, gravatar)
- Set up Google Analytics and verify
- Set up Search Console and verify
- Create and publish core content (Legal pages, about post and home page)
- Create a contact page
- Create blog posts (2/3 posts per category + 1 'big post')
- Post to your G+ a/c (and/or other social media)
- Perform Fetch as Google on the blog posts
- Wait 12 hours then search for blog posts on Google, both as quoted results and unquoted results
So, is this repeatable? Can anyone do it? Does that 'blueprint' work?
Shall we see... ?

as you say the droves of people looking for that keyword are huge!
but remember that as long as that post is good and relevant to you niche Google os not the only source of traffic.
If you start getting traffic by other means - social media - then google will update it numbers and take notice of you.
Next task is to find a low hanging fruit keyword and rank for that - say searches about 50 and qsr

Now I know it works I can apply it to other websites and blog posts I have.

Keep in mind that if you start "owning" a bunch of the long-tail keywords for the niche, Google will boost your ranking overall. That is a very solid strategy. It may only be 10 visits a month, but if you have targeted them so tightly, they may turn from 10 visitors into 10 buyers!
