Niche Site Ranking From Scratch Day 2
It's currently 22.52 on 1st February and I've been struggling with the more technical side of today's tasks.
So, today's tasks were to:
- Configure All-In-One SEO - actually Jay taught me 2 things I didn't know, under AIO's 'Feature Manager' I could create a sitemap and do something with social media but I didn't really understand what Jay was saying - perhaps that is somehting for further .search and learn'
- Theme Choice - Jay uses a premium theme called Gusto which he spent a bit of time configuring - bit of a waste of our time as we don't have that theme. Anyway I took the time to find a decent, one column blog with full page ability and footer widgets. I like it (but then I would!)
- Visual Branding - again another Jay timesink as this all took place with his theme - if you want to get Jay's theme and do what he does then I'm sure you can contact him and ask. I just sat through this
- Set up Google Analytics and verified the website
- Set up Google Search Console, website verification and linking Analytics and Search Console - there's a lot of information available in these 2 webtools - wonder if I'll get to use them all?
We didn't get to create the 'core content' yet - but Jay did say that there would be a mid-week session that he'll film so I'll report back when I've found that and done the tasks.
The good thing is that Google now 'knows' the website exists but there's nothing to really see yet.
Jay has a small, annoying habit in these videos - he pauses while he reads questions - which, if you're following along on your own website is really annoying :-) ! But he can get testy at questions from morons - lolol!

You don't say which theme you have chosen. Which features does it have?Does it need a lot of edits to change the font size and color?Does it need a lot of plagins?
Really interesting to follow you.:)
Good point Vera - I haven't - pure oversight on my part - I'll incorporate that into the last day wrap up due out on Sunday
It would go a lot quicker if 'life' didn't keep poking its nose in - one drawback of working from home I guess

I wish I knew which of Jay's videos you were talking about. It would be easier to follow along.
