Am I being impatient?

Hello WA community!! This is mostly for me to put my stuff out there but hopefully it might help someone in the community that is VERY NEW to all of this just like me. So I signed up for WA back at the beginning of the month I believe and then upgraded to premium at the beginning of this week I think.

When I was in my free membership trial I did the training at my own pace, and I will admit a lot of the information did not stick so I had to go back through and do quite a bit of reviewing and at this point still I'm still confused on how some of it works.

Then I decided to go premium and continue on with the training ( I am on level 2 lesson 2 of the online entrepreneur certification) which even though I still don't understand some of the material i feel it was a good choice because of all the things you can do while being a premium member. Now that I've been on here for a little bit of time I'm seeing people write blogs saying they have gotten indexed, or they have made there first commission, or they've created content for their websites. Upon looking at some of these people's profiles they've been on the platform for 3 months or so.

So my concern is am I getting to impatient? Am i not where i should be? (I know all people learn things different and at a different pace). I mean I don't even really know how to put content on my website or even when the right time would be to do that? Anyone else ever felt like this when they very first started out? If so how did you work around it and persevere?

As always I appreciate the feedback I get from everyone here at WA! Thanks all and have a great day!!

I understand your frustration and you must realize that this is not a race. If you have to go back over a lesson do so, I do and I get a better understanding of the lesson. Sometimes I have to go over a lesson 3 or 4 times before I fully understand. Also learn the importance of keywords as this is what will help you get indexed on google. Just remember not to overuse your keyword in your post.
Johnny

King of being impatient here.

You definitely have to work at your own pace. One of the key things I have learned in my 3 years here at WA is not comparing myself to other people. Just because someone has been here the same amount of time as you, you have no idea what niche they are in, or what their background is.

Just reading your profile, I see you are into Harleys and dirt bikes. I don't know if you are using either one of those as your niche, but those are both solid niche ideas.

I ran into another WA member recently who has a dirt bike niche and it's really starting to take off.

Everything here takes time, and you have a be patient and consistently produce quality content. Even if you start out with one post per week, you have to start somewhere.

Kyle is pretty clear in the training when to write a post, so stick to the training and write when he tells you to write.

I wish you all the best.

Do you happen to know who the member was? Yeah motorcycles are definitely my passion so that's what I went after for my first website

Shoot, I don't remember who that was.

figured it was a long shot but figured id ask lol

If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like your main issue is that you aren't putting content on your website.

Kyle just mentioned something the other day about how the closest way to failure is inaction.

The hard truth is that nothing is going to come to you, you have to get it.

You dont have to be the best writer on earth but you do have to provide content.

I've only been here a month and Ive been indexed 15 times but I have to discipline myself.

I know everyone has different work ethics and some work slower than others so my advice is to write content with a low hanging fruit keyword.

If you're working at a slow pace, dont focus on trying to finish that 1000 word article today. Just write 5 sentences and see how you feel.

It doesn't have to be completed today, but you can get part of your article finished.

You are going to want to free yourself of any distractions as well

You'd be surprised how much you get done when the tv is off and you aren't randomly internet surfing

One thing that isn't mentioned in the training is that you shouldn't mention the keyword more than 4 times through out your article.

When you're writing your articles, throw the keyword in there and make it sound natural.

If you do a little bit each day, you'll get more accustomed to writing your content and your speed will improve.

You just have to practice but take the first step and start writing.

Don't do it tommorow, do it today. Can you squeeze in 1 paragraph a day?

It may not seem like much, but writing a little bit each day adds up and youll have a lot of content before you know it!

But yes, you do have to be patient l, I'm impatient about other things too

Right on man I get what your saying. I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to put content on my website. And I figured it would have to be all set up before you could put content on it? Would I be accurate to say that the process would be pick a niche, set up a website, produce good content, get traffic, become an associate for Amazon or whoever, put up links along with content, monetize?

That’s how I did it, that sounds correct. When you write content, don’t forget to ask for comments, that helps your google rankings

Okay cool thanks for the tip I did some training today where I actually wrote some content got about 600 words and then took a break I do have another question, so the content that I wrote about today on my website does the rest of my content that I put up on my website have to be about the exact same thing I did today or can it be about other stuff? Only reason I ask is because with my niche I can branch out and talk about a lot of different stuff and didn't know if i can do that on my website I have now or have to create a new one for every topic I wanna cover around my niche

It can be about other stuff depending on your niche but I can’t imagine any websites content talking about the exact same thing all the time.

I would recommend finishing your first article with no less than 1000 words before moving on to something else though.

What is your website? I’d like to take a look if you don’t mind

Cool I was thinking that it could be about all different stuff and not all about one thing I sent you a private message

Hi Dustin,
I feel the same way as you! I was hoping that I would be progressing much faster then I am. I started back in May hoping to get things rolling before the end of the summer. I am a teacher so the school year is quite busy especially with my kids in all their activities. After I signed up for Premium and paying every month it puts a bit more pressure to get things moving!
I am enjoying all of the training and learning a lot of new things!! I find I am having to go through some of the training more than once! My goal is to make small progress each day!

Sometimes you just have to grab the bull by the horns Dustin. You are correct in saying we all work at our own pace, and I feel personally, the slower you go through the training the more of it you are likely to absorb.

I can only tell you from my experience when I first started here I went through the training at a tremendous rate and because of that, I've had to keep going back through it because I didn't take it all in.

Derek

As a complete newbie this time last year, I have found that going thru the training a second time was necessary. So much new terminology.to absorb.
This is not a sprint race but more like a marathon.

Mark

Yes I may go back through the training, think that is a great idea!

I completely understand your impatience, I think we all go through it at one time or another. You just have to set it aside and keep plugging away.

Each and everyone of us have different life schedules that determine how much time we can devote to building our online business. The secret is to keep moving forward at whatever pace it is.

Remember, small steps are better than no steps.

See ya on the successful side of all this!

Gary

Thanks man!

Hi, I don't think you are being impatient, however it is really important that you work at your own pace, and equally take it slow and complete every detail of the training step by step.

It is all going to depend how much time a day you can dedicate. Obviously those who can do this full time may progress faster than those part time or just doing work a few times a week.

I felt I rushed through the training and my website wasn't ready enough for a lot of the training, because I worked at such a fast pace. So if I did it again I would go slower and do less lessons a day.

I have seen people having multiple websites and writing multiple content a day, and I often wonder how on earth they are achieving this. I just can't do that with 2 children and two jobs, so you have to really make this your own journey. there is no competition, no targets (other than your own, and you are in charge of those).

Hope that helps

Sara

Thanks for the words!

Hi, I am still learning & have been doing this for 3 months, my posts are now being indexed but I still don't really understand a lot & I am now going back to the start of my training to try & take a bit more in. It is very intense to learn I have found but it is a relatively easy walk through, give Google time, you will soon be indexed & then everything else will come. I have finally started getting comments on my posts now but like you I was also being impatient & wondering what was going on. I think everyone has the same amount of time to wait, it just seems to be ages & we are doing a lot of work it seems before any recognition comes our way. It will come, small steps, let Google do their thing & you will soon be on your way. Just keep posting & learning. Best of luck & I hope this helped you.

I think we are all guilty of impatience at one point of time or the other. However, we are all with you in this crazy canoe ride down the roaring hillside. You are never alone here in this amazing community. I suggest you should start by dedicating about 6 hours daily in here to get acquainted with the details of this business. I am still a newbie here as well. Good luck

Well with working a full time job 50 hours a week dont have 6 hours a day to burn on here but do try to get at least 2 hours a night on it
