Treat online life like you are a Rock Star!
[Photo is Dave Meniketti of Y&T]
In my late teens to mid 20's I was a bit of a rebel. I never did drugs, but I grew my hair, drank a lot and listened to a lot of loud rock music. It was my life for about 10 years before I settled down. I wasn't scared of anything. I would just do what I wanted to do.
Obviously it's not practical to carry on through your whole life that way. Hedonism catches up with you eventually. Responsibilities loom and people rely on you, you have to calm down. But starting up an online business lets you re-live that Rock Star attitude.
Don't be afraid of anything. Go for what you know and do what you want. Wear crazy T-shirts and sod the office uniform. Work when you want, drink as much as you want. Swear a lot. Grow your hair and wear cool shades.
It's a new Universe online. There's no right or wrong way, just your way. Be as far out as you want to be. It will get you attention and people will notice.
You can be introverted in person, but a Rock Star in cyberspace.
Unleash your inner Rockstar now!

Certainly sounds like me at that time in my life as well Dave!!
Have I truly grown out of it??? Probably not!! But I did lose the dreadlocks about 20 years ago so at least I look slightly more respectable these days!!
I don't think we ever completely grow out of it. I'm proud of it. I also like surprising the younger generation who think they've done it all. I have some tales to tell ! π
Dave
I can't disagree with you there Dave and I certainly have some tales to tell as well!!

Hi Dave
Iβm a lot more nerd than Rock Nβ Roll rebel, but Iβve had fun listening to and playing rock music ever since I can remember.
My parents introduced me to rock, way back in the 1950s and Iβve loved it ever since. π

My dad loved Eddie Fisher, Andy Wiiliams & Glen Miller. I grew to appreciate them too. I thinks it's important to know where rock n roll came from. Everything in music is derivative. Music is like fashion. It has cycles. We all need to remember, it's all been done before.
That's so true, Dave! π
Growing up, I was exposed to all the big band music, opera, classical, blues, R&B, etc.
You can play the melody lines of some of Bach's pieces on an electric guitar through a Marshall stack and you have Metal. Lol π

Of course, a lot of metal is inspired by classical pieces. Guys like Yngwie Malmsteen played it a million miles an hour. Ritchie Blackmore is currently doing Medieval stuff. It sounds great on guitar!
Dave
Hi Dave
Yeah, Yngwie got a lot of his inspiration from Paganini.
Ritchie has been playing Medieval and Renaissance music forever, way before he started recording it with his band, Blackmoreβs Night.
Classical music is a lot more than ripping harmonic minor scales up and down the guitar neck.
The best metal players understand this. π
Rock On! π€

I love the fact that Rock doesn't mind taking the p**s out of itself. Spinal Tap ("This one goes up to 11", Tiny Stonehenge) and the first Twisted Sister vids (I Wanna Rock) were all poking fun at themselves. Movies like Still Crazy just embodied the genre perfectly. Totally ridiculous, but mega-enjoyable. ππ
Dave
Hi Dave
Spinal Tap is one of my favorite films! The film was so popular that Marshall made their JCM900 with one distortion knob that went from 0 to 10 and another that went from 11 to 20 on the higher gain channel.
I love the tiny Stonehenge and the pod that wouldn't open! π€£

Hey Dave
I went through about a ten year period of much of the same. I played in a several rock bands from the early 80's on. I probably partied a little harder, but none the less it was a great time!
It's time to Rock out again in a slightly different fashion.....online. I like the message, Dave!

Hey Tim, It's all part of being a rocker. If you lived it, you had to BE it!
I'm pretty sure that I could never have been an accountant. I was a rocking scientist! I roadied a bit too π
My Music collection is still predominately hair metal from the 1980's. π \m/ \m/
Dave
Hey Dave
I definitely lived it! π
That sounds familiar, my go to is Hair Nation on Sirius/XM. Haha
Have a great Saturday, Dave!
