Cut and paste on an iPhone.
I'm sitting in the car in Santa Cruz in a pouring rain storm. I decided to play with my iPhone and figure out all the things it can do for me about which I am not aware. I do a lot of work on my iPhone which means cutting and pasting. I thought an explanation of how to cut and paste on an IPhone might be helpful.
Press lightly on the text or image you want to copy. This will bring up some options. You'll see: select, select all, paste and look up. Pressing "select" will produce two dots and a blue colored patch. Moving the dots left to right or up and down helps you select a portion of text or an image. "Select all" highlites all the text in the dialogue box turning it blue so you can see what you have selected.
Once you have selected the text, 3 more options appear. You can: cut, copy or paste. Press "copy". This captures the text.
To paste the text selected, go to the empty text or dialogue box and gently press. You will see the options "paste" or "look up". I must say, I try the look up option every time and, so far, I have never seen anything on the ceiling. But, tapping "paste" places the copied text in the box.
Its pretty simple and works with images as well. If you have to work on your IPhone, this will help you keep on fishin'!

Me too James. It's amazing the number of apps and functions you can find on a mobile device when you have to while away the time!
