Do You Notify Visitors of Approved Comments? You Should!

You have done all of your research. You have checked your keyword placement. You have checked your grammar and punctuation. You have dotted all the (i)s and crossed all (t)s.

You have created an incredible article!

WOW! Your post is so good visitors are commenting on it. Awesome news. You approve and respond to their question or comment and you are done right?

Not so fast.

Guess what? Your visitor that you worked so hard to attract has no idea that you approved their comment much less responded to it. Unless they return to your site they will never know.

Let's think about this a minute. How many people are going to go back to a site to see if their query has been responded to? Maybe if they had a burning question they might return. But if they simply left you a comment on how much they enjoyed your article I think no one would.

Opt in forms and enticements to get email addresses are fine. But they do not accomplish what you can with your comments. Comments are a great way to gain ranking and site trust. and establish yourself as an authority.

Don't waste this valuable resource by not notifying your visitors of their approved comments. Statistics prove that a visitor is not likely to make a purchase on their first visit. Letting them know that you have responded to their comment/question is a great way to get them back to your site.

It is easy to do. you can simply create a quick word document and manually answer your visitors, or use this lightweight plugin. If you do it manually do not give them the response to their comment this defeats the purpose.

I hear you screaming all the way in South Texas. I know I do not like plugins either but this will not effect load time at all.

This plugin is super simple. Upload and activate it and you're done. Your visitors will receive an email like this one.

Right out of the box it works nothing needed no action other than than the install. ButI didn't like the wording of this message so I did a bit of editing to make it read like this.

Either way you do it notify visitors of approved comments it will be well worth your time!
