I am promoting WA through an affiliate site, plus using other of my pages to add banners and external links to the site and that affiliate page (advertise the program but internally)...

Having said that, I think if making money is the object, you should consider adding in other affilate products, services, or programs that will get you started in tandem with WA.....

There are a ton of sites advertising WA, so the competition is high. You may experience frustration and little success if you focus ONLY on WA...This seems to be self evident, just look at how many active members we have here...

In my case I have only one WA referral who paid to date in 5 months. For my other products I am already making 300 to 400 USD a month, not the world either lol! But it does show me that I need to make sure to keep diversifying...

So if affiliate marketing works (and it does) but takes time, what is the solution to get more income per month from online marketing?

The answer for me was to add in more of my own digital products and programs, which I am working on now. I have quite a few that are in the queue at the moment, and I am doing one after another...

This is better than trying to do all of them at one time. This way I get one done, start selling, and it keeps on selling while I get the next one up and selling, and so on...In the end you will make more money and be focused (less chaos?)

Your own stuff to sell can do so many things for you: build your lead list, build relationships with other affiliates that will selll your products to their lists, get you sales and profits, and build your brand...

Of course after mentioning all the above, I have to also get some traffic. Just having something of value does nothing if no one is seeing it and buying. So that is yet another leg of this business...

So to get traffic, there are so many ways....Content (what is promoted here and is MOST effective still today), video and pictures, guest posting, solo ads, PPC, social media platforms such as Pinterest, FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram, plus others...

Depending on the marketing program you choose, you can prepare a campaign to identily who to target, how best to target, when to post adverts, where to post, plan a budget, etc,

There is no one right or wrong answer here for all of this. You have complete control on what direction you take and when, etc. This truly is YOUR business to take in any direction you choose!

This I love about the online business...

This is where WA comes in, and any other education source you may be able to tap into...It can give you a leg up on those that are blindly feeling their way through this world.

Certainly I would not say that a person can only make it using WA or other sources, but I WOULD say that you will get to where you want to go a LOT faster by using these excellent tools that will help you avoid the pitfalls...
